The reason being: there were vegetation survey sites in lakes so my dataset was lacking one categorial surface deposit variable my prediction raster has: water.

Fun fact: if your training dataset has 5 levels in a factor and prediction dataset has 6 it won't work. Even if there's a reason for it being that way. #rstats #statisticalmodelling

In the end the problem was one categorically misplaced occurence that resulted from a pixel size change in raster. Efectively there was a birch growing in a lake😁 #rstats
