Will it be wrong to say In the coming years Manipur is likely to become hunting grounds for some officer hunger for gallantry medals by taking the life of innocent civilian,
Doesn't this effect your ethics, Conscience & morale in life . We need more accountable army officers
Thanks @rlungleng for this timely interview. I've interviewed Niketu & Wati earlier, but somehow missed Visier. As mutual hate & killings persist between segments of Naga & Kukis in Manipur, we must learn to live in peace before we lost our humanity! https://t.co/N5yljrZU5m
Dear Friends,
THE HYENAS FIGHT AND EAT THEIR PREY ALIVE:
Alas! The result of the Hongbei Massacre is out in the public domain, and a letter war between NSCN-IM & NSCN-EF was clearly visible, wherein accusations, anger, dissatisfaction, blame, and unparliamentary yet diplomatic language were used to highlight each other’s weaknesses. The high-ranking commanders of both NSCN organizations are busy consolidating their ground now and using common Tangkhul youth as cannon fodder.
NSCN-IM is desperate to fuel the crisis to such an extent that the Naga community rises and believes in their cause. Local high-ranking commanders are visiting village after village to appease village heads and consolidate support. Yet the upper hand is still with NSCN-IM Hebron, and NSCN-EF, which is already witnessing cracks. Their proxy Khanuithot Khon is worried about losing Ukhrul & Chamu areas.
As per reports, huge weapon and ammunition supplies have reached NSCN-IM cadres, and they are ready to fight NSCN-EF cadres if their high-ranking officials do not "sip tea from the same cup." NSCN-EF officials visiting Hebron for a peace deal with NSCN-IM is a clear indicator of them being subdued and accepting the decisions and supremacy.
The bigger question still remains the same: the reason for the Hongbei incident was tax from local businessmen—whether wood, commercial, or contractors involved in infrastructure development projects like the National Highway Construction Project. With peace between NSCN-IM and EF, will the businessmen pay illegal taxes to both, or will NSCN-IM control and give the beggars their share?
With a series of events happening—Cobra Battalions coming to Manipur, open statements on AFSPA by the Honorable Home Minister, President’s Rule imposed by NSCN-IM, economic blockade on basic commodities, and AR changing gear—Manipur will witness some serious violence orchestrated by NSCN-IM in the coming days.
It’s time for the Tangkhul community, especially of the Kamjong region, to decide who believes in NSCN-IM and who sees NSCN-EF as their savior, because tax benefits will be limited and their hard-earned money will be split for sure. For whom are their sons fighting—IM or EF, for CnC H. Shadang from Grihang or Absolom? For personal benefits, NSCN-IM & NSCN-EF will eat their prey alive.

Dear Friends,
A firing incident happened today between AR and Kuki Village Volunteers at Molvailup, near the Myanmar border in Kamjong District.
Molvailup is a remote village close to Kultuk Village, which was attacked and burnt by NSCN-IM & NSCN-EF cadres recently. Reports also stated that SNA cadres were involved in the attack and the brutal killing of two innocent villagers in Kultuk Village. After this incident, Kuki Village Volunteers were deployed to protect their village.
After the Kultuk incident, many questions have been left unanswered:
1. Were VVEZ cadres deployed in Kultuk or Molvailup before that incident?
2. What forced them to come to such a village?
3. Has the local police registered any FIR, and is legal action being taken against TangkhulNSCN-IM and NSCN-EF?
4. Where was the post-mortem done?
5. Did the local civil administration or political head announce any compensation to the families of the deceased?
6. Did any local MLA, DC, CSO, or even government official visit Kultuk?
Assam Rifles, which has been trying to maintain balance and ensure the sanctity of the IMB, has also increased its patrols in border areas. When two armed groups move in the area, such incidents will occur. Sometimes it ends with loss of life, which is not acceptable to anyone. Or did this incident take place because it is easy to target Kuki Volunteers rather than armed NVGs or cadres of NSCN-EF, as the entire system works against minorities? From LPG supply to ration distribution, medical facilities, police protection, and simple access to markets for basic needs, it is extremely difficult for Kukis. No one questions it when a Kuki is killed, whether a volunteer or a pastor.
No one should pick up arms like this. But now Assam Rifles must dominate all border areas, including Chhatrik Khunao, Chhatrik Khullen, Humine Thana, Z Choro & Kamjong Town, where NSCN-IM & NSCN-EF cadres are living in close coordination with local Tangkhuls. These cadres use border villages as bases, roam around with sophisticated weapons, and openly challenge both Kukis and AR.
The letter initiated by the GB of Chhatrik to stop AR from coming to their villages, NSCN-IM making bunkers, imparting training to NVGs, calling SNA from Homalin, and feeding in the Chhatrik area must also be dealt with by AR. Why take action only against one community that is already suppressed by Tangkhuls through various means like economic blockades? Is Chhatrik a declared liberated area?
The photos posted by NSCN-EF cadres at BP 96 on 12 Jun clearly show that local youth have been recruited and used to operate in the jungle.
What will happen when AR fights these NSCN-IM, NSCN-EF, or SNA cadres in border areas? Will Tangkhuls show the maturity that the local villagers of Molvailup showed today? No vehicles burnt, no COB stormed, no road block. They accepted this incident with grace, but will the Tangkhul community also behave the same way?
The answer lies in the unbiased behavior of AR in the Kamjong-Chassad area. Only if they are unbiased will they take similar action against NSCN-IM, NSCN-EF, or SNA as well.
Kuki VVs are there to protect their land and people, whereas NSCN-IM/NSCN-EF want a separate flag. The recent statements given by their hierarchy clearly show that they see Indian Security Forces as enemies. Slogans like "ARMY & AR GO BACK", "Fight for Nagalim", "Impose NSCN President's Rule" have been their favorite slogans. They see Indian Security Forces as aggressors. Whereas Kukis don’t do all this. They work for India and respect Indian Security Forces.
The statement given by NSCN-IM commanders to increase domination along the Indo-Myanmar Border clarifies that NSCN-IM cadres will move into remote border locations, like they came to BP 96 with AK-47s. Since "unbiased AR troops" are also patrolling in these areas, a bigger crisis will unfold very soon.

Manipur Police say suspected militant killed in gunfight, locals claim he was a civilian

BJP MLA Letzamang Haokip also condemned the killing of the man ‘at the hands of those entrusted with his protection’ and sought an independent inquiry.
Manipur : PRESS STATEMENT
Lamka; The 18th June, 2026
The clothing of the slain civilian, Mr. Lenminsang, which constitutes crucial material evidence of the fake encounter on 16 June, was reportedly seized by personnel of the 5 @official_dgar at the Hengkot checkpost. It is reported that individuals carrying the blood-stained clothes were intercepted, and the items were forcibly taken from them at the said checkpost.
This deeply troubling act raises serious concerns regarding the integrity, handling, and possible tampering of key evidence. The seizure of such critical material without transparency, documentation, or adherence to due process casts grave doubt on the conduct of the personnel involved.
These developments strongly indicate a deliberate attempt to destroy or manipulate evidence. There is compelling reason to believe that personnel of the 21 Para unit were directly responsible for the killing of the civilian, and subsequently altered the scene by changing his clothing and placing an AK-47 rifle to falsely portray him as a militant.
Such actions constitute a gross violation of human rights and the rule of law, and demand an immediate, impartial, and independent investigation to ensure accountability.
