🇺🇸🇰🇮 On November 20, I joined Kiribati Minister for Line and Phoenix Islands Development the Honorable Teimari Mikarite, Japanese Head of Mission Ikeda Hirotsugu, and Korean Charge d'Affaires Myong-jun Kim in laying wreaths at monuments honoring the Japanese and Korean soldiers who lost their lives here in 1943. This was a day of solemn remembrance of the sacrifices made 82 years ago, but our solidarity as allies and partners today demonstrates for the world the possibilities for peace.
