@gaddafinassur@BalaamBarugahar@NRMOnline I am preparing to move a private members bill to amend the Local Government Act to accord more powers and responsibilities to the district executive to effectively superintend the technocrats in local governments
Dear @KagutaMuseveni , @UgandaEC when political leaders especially "opportunist" use recounts as a strategy to delay acceptance of legitimate results, it undermines democratic maturity. As young people we learn by observing leaders. If leaders refuse to respect legal outcomes after due verification, youth internalize the belief that power matters more than principles.
This weakens the culture of accountability and respect for institutions that democracy depends on.
Further more ,constant election disputes may shift our focus away from meaningful civic engagement like discussing policy, development, education, employment, and innovation issues that deeply affect us the national conversation is becoming centered on conflict and political rivalry. This is going to reduce or reducing opportunities for constructive youth participation in governance.
In addition the harm arises when recounts are manipulated, exaggerated, or used as tools for political pressure.
For democracy to serve young people, institutions must be independent, credible, and efficient in handling electoral disputes.
In conclusion, vote recounting is harming the democracy of young people when it breeds mistrust, fuels division, and models poor leadership behavior. We are the backbone of our nationโs future, and our confidence in democratic systems must be protected.
Democracy thrives not only on the right to question results but also on respect for lawful outcomes. For us to remain engaged and hopeful, electoral processes including recounts must be conducted with evidence of vote rigging, integrity, transparency, and responsibility.@DailyMonitor@KagutaMuseveni@JanetMuseveni@Humanrights256@nbstv@AnitahAmong@NYCofUganda@tanga_collins@Thomas_Tayebwa@KKariisa@SpiceFMHoima@JuliaMuhumuza
An election with 445 voters & a single ballot box is being disputed!
All that transpired was on live TV & now itโs being subjected to recounting hearings.

๐ฅHIGHLIGHTS | Usisi Amandla Fellowship Pioneer Cohort Graduation ๐
What began as a bold idea in November 2024 has now become a living legacy.
Last week, we celebrated the graduation of the first-ever cohort of the #UsisiAmandla Fellowship โ 18 young women who dared to learn, lead and step into spaces that shape Ugandaโs public policy landscape.
For one year, these fellows immersed themselves in mentorship, policy analysis, leadership coaching, and evidence-based decision-making.
They questioned norms, confronted challenges, built policy solutions, and discovered the strength of collective voice โ Sister Strength.

Yesterday, Hon. Jonard Asiimwe Akiiki visited an experienced coffee farmer in Hoima City and reaffirmed the government's commitment to boosting farmers' projects with PDM funds.
Mr. Chameleon, a well-known farmer in Kihukya Ward, Hoima City, is an example to many. His farm is well kept, feeding from the residues from indoor cattle being reared plus goat manure collected from his goat rearing project.
Eng. Jonard Asiimwe encouraged NRM leaders and supporters to listen carefully to President @KagutaMuseveni's campaigns against poverty; they are well researched and metered to alleviate poverty.
Hon. Eng. Jonard Asiimwe Akiiki, while listening to Muzee Chameleon narrating his practices, his challenge was drawing water from the dug well. Eng. Jonard donated a water pump to this promising mixed farm that will serve as a model to other people in and out of the area.

After the first meeting, we are now engaging with all NRM leaders to collect the views, grievances. We are listening carefully to their voices, everyone is valuable.
Today, Al-Hajji Moses Kigongo and Eng. Jonard Asiimwe in a reconciliation meeting with the NRM leaders in Fortportal City, we saw many stepping down for the NRM flag bearers.
It was a joyful moment seeing people who choose to stick to the principles of the true movement. This is the movement spirit.
Let's work towards protecting the gains by voting President Museveni together with NRM flag bearers.
Thank you all.

There is only one leader in this country Ugandan, H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, I am always overblown by his knowledge of everything in this country and what happens outside it, and thatโs what makes him a better president. He has overtime encouraged me to read books and he says thatโs where knowledge is. That reminds me of a saying โif you want to hide any information from Africans put it in writing โ
Mama , the first lady today asked the people of nebbi and zombo to strengthen their spirits to supporting NRM and voting H.E kaguta museveni , if ugandan must be as peaceful and developmental as it is at the moment and also to continue with the transformation.
While in Nebbi district today, had an interaction with the nations great brians on the new developments and how we can protect the gains, it has been such an insightful dialogue.
