Probably, at least in part, because men have made engaging with superhero media a miserable experience for women for YEARS at this point. We are tired of the culture war. A lot of the women who are seeing it aren’t talking about it because we get flooded with miserable comments if we do.

I think part of the reason Wonder Woman, Captain Marvel and the The Force Awakens did well was because women were not yet overexposed to the relentless misogyny in these spaces.

I’ve been a sci-fi fan and I’ve been reading comics longer than most of these fucking rejects have been alive and it’s hard to talk about.

Disney imagineering has the wrong direction here. ACT 1 of Pirates is supposed to be mysterious; finding a cavern of dead skeleton pirates with their treasures.
ACT 2 transports you back to the time of the Caribbean Pirates.
So this addition ruins the PACING and STORYTELLING.
