Word of the Day is one I keep posting at the end of the year, hoping its time will come.
‘Respair’, from the 16th century, is fresh hope, and a recovery from despair.
Here’s to a few drops of respair in 2025.
My friend sent me a message that said you’ve been strong all year so don’t finish strong, finish rested. Sharing because I’m sure I’m not the only one who needed to hear this.
I'm still learning how to let go of things and memories and people which are damaging to me and embrace what's in front of me.
Going in to 2025 without a clue about where I'll be/what life will look like, but with lots of hope about what it might bring. 🩷
In 2024 I quit smoking, quit blaming myself for the way people chose to treat me, and last week, quit my job.
I said yes to reconnecting with old friends, solo adventures, fun, and taking risks....
Maternal and neonatal deaths 'rising for the first time in a decade' - the latest Patient Safety Watch report confirms. Black mothers are still 3x more likely to die during pregnancy or shortly after than white women.
Behind this data are real women, lives and families. Just yesterday, I spoke with someone still struggling with the aftermath of losing their baby due to negligence and lack of safety. Fear shouldn't be part of any mother's journey, yet Black women consistently express the most concern about maternity safety.
This isn't just about numbers or reports. This is an obvious human rights issue.

After 11 years together, we've finally taken the next big step in our relationship: combining our books. (This is a greater commitment than marriage, I am never doing this again)
