People with BPD suffer from imposter syndrome because we go from being fine to catastrophic existential crisis back to being just fine in a matter of hours and no one talks about how invalidating our mental illness is for us.
Mental illness is only acceptable if your symptoms last a day or two. Everyone expects you to be ‘normal’ again, as if it’s like a virus. It’s so hard being unwell but pretending to be okay.
