An absolute honour to have been taught by this man. Countless people alive thanks to his tireless efforts.
I'm proud to have been an ambulance girl he taught, along side all those early ambulance drivers he 'cardiac' trained in Brighton along side porters and doctors.

RIP to the founding father of Paramedic Science, Professor Douglas Chamberlain CBE, OStJ, KSG (1931 to 2025).

An absolute legend, father to all emergency medical personnel past, present and future, and undoubtedly the saviour of millions of lives since 1971 through his development of pre-hospital emergency care and implementation of cardiac resuscitation techniques.

You will be greatly missed but always admired and importantly, never forgotten!

@oli_m_sims I'm now able to get out to the mountains, ski more, stuff o/s work has taken priority and I'm ok with that. If you're still struggling at 40 I'd encourage a rethink 😜

@oli_m_sims You definitely will make it work in your chosen field. I couldn't as a 2nd career for many reasons, divorce/ kids/ burnt out. V happy with my direction now but will always be a regret not to be with the coffee drinkers tribe!
