New video out now about the Chaos God Nurgle from Warhammer and how the diseases he spreads are not actually that chaotic... at least according to the scientific perspective.

@MicrobiomDigest I'm amazed at how little effort went into making this believable, like, I get not adjusting the background of the stuff they copied but, they didn't think to at least rotate the shapes or? Anything? 😂
@tfyoucallme@shebringsjoy I just wanted to show the name of the gene, saw the Cleveland Health Clinic at the bottom and thought that it's probably correct. I definitely verify through other sources when I'm less familiar with something but, was just sloppy this time. I also have the gene so, that too.
I just posted my first video of a long series of videos covering science in a social context within media. This video is about how developers at @Obsidian depict scientists in @OuterWorlds's Roseway Arc
Hope you enjoy!

Like for everyone of these people (who either believe this or are just getting on the trend) there's 5 people who are just fiscal conservatives who don't really like what's happening right now, who are reachable if you try
I think people like this exist in a vacuum. Like we see these 20 people with these views because Jubilee selected them that way. I want to believe that this is a small portion of conservatives, don't let their hate and extremism warp your view of all conservatives.
This guys openly and proudly admits that he’s a fascist and he doesn’t condemn the Nazi regime. When you don’t vote, people like this loser get to pick our leaders, and they’re not picking people who care about you. Absolute insanity.
It's kind of a perfect example of people hate the word climate change but if you tell them the effect that is happening, and more importantly, one that affects them, suddenly it's really a problem, even if you don't want to label it.
@BriannaWu This just seems... exclusionary, reactionary, and wrong. Like, that's opposite to the movement, transvestigating people like this and blaming the community for people doing bad stuff.
@akafacehots I feel like if I were to ask why someone doesn't prefer other races, there's no answer that doesn't make them sound super racist. Other than hiding behind the general "I don't prefer it".
It was an interesting watch because there were some people that seemed like they were actually listening but disagreed, but others where it was a non-starter. His well prepared facts do nothing against "because God makes me believe this".
@dr_andrealove They're not invoking the technical definition of a chemical but the one that makes people afraid of unnatural or dirty chemicals. They want people to believe their product is more pure and that works for people who value that.
This kind of thing relies on saying anything natural is bad, that you should be afraid of it. But "unnatural" things are not inherently bad, Tylenol isn't natural but it makes my head stop hurting which is nice. Soda is not the greatest but I love that too all the same.
How does cryogenic electron microscopy, or #cryoEM, help answer fundamental questions about the biology and mechanics of molecular structures? What impact does this have on the future of #BiomedicalResearch? @UWBiochem and @Morgridge_Inst explain here. 🔬 https://t.co/L5cTrYCDCQ
My boomer parents had never heard of Project 2025. They also aren't going to read 900 pages to learn about it. But you know what they do care about? Social Security. Which Project 2025 plans to cut.
Forget the existential fascist threat to democracy. Talk to people about the basics.
