This map shows the Arabization of Africa and West Asia between 540 CE and our time. The reason that #Ethiopia was never Arabized was because the Solomonic Emperors resisted hostile Arab powers over the centuries, from Afro-Arab forces backed by the Ottomans during the 14th, 15th, and 16th centuries to the Arabized Mahdists and Egyptians in later times. If it weren't for them, no other language, be it Amharic, Tigrinya, or else, would have survived, and our official language would have become Arabic.
