Amazing kickoff to @AmCollegeGastro#2ndYFC with @DHassMD discussing “Life After Fellowship”
Some pearls from the talk:
⭐️ Define your practice goals early.
⭐️Setting and culture matter as much as pay.
⭐️Ask how work is distributed and how success is measured.
⭐️Fit > prestige. Long-term satisfaction comes from alignment.
⭐️Use your network. Most jobs come from people, not postings.
⭐️See volume and variation in fellowship. It shapes your judgment.
⭐️Learn from many, then build your own clinical style.
⭐️Non-clinical skills matter. Billing, QI, EMR, leadership compound.
⭐️Know billing and coding before you graduate. It protects autonomy.

There are two ways to meet an expert IBD-ologist
One, attend @GuildConference
Two, which is what I do most of the time, say out loud "Ulcerative colitis? Let's start cipro/flagyl!" or "Crohn's? Time for mesalamine". Usually they come running straight to you
