The First Reading today (Feast of St. Thomas the Apostle) is an exhortation to all who claim to be under the banner of Christ.
You form a building which rises on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the capstone. - St. Paul to the Ephesians
The Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith has sent a communication to bishops around the world outlining what must be done to welcome back those who decide to leave the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X following the schismatic act that led to excommunication.

NEW: The Vatican has published the process for “reconciliation” of priests & lay faithful from the SSPX ----
Both priests & lay must sign a Profession of Faith and Declaration of Adherence
Priests must be “willing to accept the Second Vatican Council and the legitimacy of the novus ordo Missae, even while remaining attached to the usus antiquior”
Laity not deemed under Vatican's censures & thus with no need to "reconcile" include:
“Laypeople who have attended the Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X solely for liturgical or spiritual reasons; Laypeople who, while aware of the tensions with the Holy See, do not reject the Magisterium or the authority of the Roman Pontiff.”
“Reconciliation” process is most complicated for clerics & involves:
1. finding an Ordinary
2. writing to the Pope
3. showing certificate of ordination
4. signing the Profession & Declaration
5. having the Ordinary vouch to Holy See that he is willing to take the priest under his jurisdiction ad experimentum
Billy Donovan has agreed to become the lead assistant coach for the San Antonio Spurs and head coach Mitch Johnson, sources tell me and @PeteThamel. After 11 seasons as a head coach in Chicago and Oklahoma City, Donovan accepts the position with the Western Conference champions.
I’ve lost a lot of followers over my comments on the SSPX so I want to say something
You are not going underground to preserve tradition like the early church
They were running from pagan rulers, not from the magisterium, the pope, and the missal.
Do not risk your soul by dying outside the church. Be a traditional Catholic and with filial obedience repent and come home to your church.
We are aware of the controversy surrounding the events of today but for the sake of debate, we recently had the following study by Fr. Louis-Marie de Blignières, FSVF, on the question of an "autonomous" episcopate, translated into English. The study was originally written in 1987. It also includes a fascinating essay from 2022.

Book description:
"In 1987, offered here for the first time in English, Fr. Louis-Marie de Blignières, presents a sustained theological study taking seriously the teachings of papal encyclicals, the writings of the Church Fathers, the doctrine of St. Thomas Aquinas, and numerous works by theologians, and applies them to the question of an "autonomous" episcopate: i.e., bishops instituted without any mandate from the Church and with the intention of forming an entity functionally self-sufficient and independent from the Church hierarchy founded by Christ (thus rendering, intentionally or not, the quest for unity unnecessary). In a characteristically Thomistic manner, Fr. de Blignières brings perennial principles to bear on a modern ecclesial problem.
These "autonomous" bishops are not part of the governance [hierarchy] of the Church. The central question thus becomes whether there can be bishops who possess a merely material apostolicity while lacking a formal apostolic mission (see Part II). The author also asks whether the crisis in the Church-which he readily acknowledges-can justify the emergence of such an episcopate. His study gives a clear and rigorous answer. The accompanying essay from 2022, included here as Part I, was chosen in order to present the reasoning of those who could not in conscience support Archbishop Lefebvre's episcopal consecrations of 1988 without papal mandate. It provides an important contextual framework for understanding the intellectual and ecclesial climate surrounding that unprecedented event, the repercussions of which continue into 2026.
It is our hope that this study will be read with serenity and objectivity and that it will foster honest debate and serious reflection on a question of great importance for all those concerned with the crisis in the Church and with the preservation of all that the Church holds dear."
why is the Pope meeting with sinners and schismatics instead of /me/, one of the most righteous people alive? Why isn't the Holy Father granting /me/ an audience I am so entitled to, by my righteousness?
BREAKING: The Vatican excommunicates bishops from a breakaway group of traditionalist Catholics that consecrated them without Pope Leo's consent. https://t.co/dZUbjgCi7q
