What does being a member of the EU cost us? Answer: less than 1.1% of U.K. Government spending. But that tiny cost to us supports more than 3 million U.K. jobs. Seems like a great deal to me #PeoplesVote or #RevokeArticle50@thegazette_news
apple there has to be a better way to add an iPhone app to a folder than chasing said folder round the screen as it carries out fighter jet level evasive manoeuvres
Remarkable speech from @MarkJCarney, urging allies to stop playing along with great-power intimidation. Compliance won’t buy safety, he warns. Stop appeasing bullies. Carney draws applause.
Citing Václav Havel, he says it’s "time for companies and countries to take their signs down." Under communism, ordinary people displayed slogans like "Workers of the world, unite!" even when they didn’t believe them, rituals of compliance meant to avoid trouble. Coercion, Havel argued, wasn’t always enforced through violence, but through quiet, everyday participation in a lie.
Carney receives a standing ovation at the end of his speech.
Extraordinary to see Canada asserting this kind of moral and strategic leadership, something we haven’t witnessed on the world stage in decades, especially at a moment when we have so much to lose if Trump chooses retaliation.
@wholemars Super impressed… but now try it when it’s actually busy 😉
Here is the Magic Roundabout in Hemel Hempstead https://t.co/INdl1slYWC which has a similar bizarre geometry!
All of Apples’s Apple Intelligence runs either local On device models or can for the time being be run if needed on secure Apple inference processors in the cloud - all with user privacy maintained. The deal with OpenAI allows users to choose to access ChatGPT-4o if they want too and is a no-revenue on either side deal. Apple said they will have other frontier model companies providing their models in the coming months too, but again these will only be accessed with the users permission and will have no access to the users personal data via Apple API’s.
So I don’t see any paradigm shift imminent here… OpenAI are dependent on Apple devices and at some point those Apple devices will able to run an Apple frontier model locally on device that is tightly coupled to the hardware that will be free and will outperform any 3rd party frontier model. Apple will always win such a fight as they own the platform .
While I don't always agree with you, there is no denying your incredible track record & impact on all of the businesses you lead and I 100% agree that you should get the Comp you were promised @ Tesla and that shareholders gladly awarded you. I also agree that the move to Texas is clearly needed to avoid future over-reach by the Delaware courts.
My conclusion from watching Paula Vennells’ testimony: if I’d known how little knowledge of literally anything is needed to be the v v v well-paid chief executive of the Post Office, I’d have applied for that job years ago!
A round of applause everyone for Stop Brexit Steve @snb19692 playing
Things Get Only Get Better at the gates of Downing St and drowning out the Rishi Sunak speech 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

The ‘next big thing’ comment at the very end of the event is the key indicator. Omni is likely the architecture that will underpin ‘GPT-5’ or whatever it’s called when released and may even be an earlier smaller build and that ‘GPT-5’ will emerge as that ‘next big thing’… and the implication is that it’s not that far off.
@NOWTV We have been locked out of our account for 4 days. Customer services said it would be resolved in 48-72 hours and are now saying it could be up to another 4 days. I understand there are many other people with the same problem. Why is this taking so long to resolve?
@dvassallo Changing the title would not have changed the review - or my opinion afterwards having watched the video. MKBHD’s audience trust his perspective and his honesty.
