I’m so proud to be involved in this effort in our school and community. As parents we are not powerless even though sometimes it can feel that way. This is only the beginning of working to give our children back their childhoods
One of the best examples of collective action is the way Jewish day schools banded together to go phone-free and restore play, book-reading, learning, and fun. Here's a 7-min video on how they did it. Any network of religious schools could to it too.

Hundreds of Jewish students at @Columbia just published one of the most incredible student letters I have ever read.
It's not only magnificently written, but it also clearly articulates their experiences on campus for the past six months.
Their letter tells the story of what's it like being a Jewish student right now better than any professor like myself could ever do.
Please take 4-5 minutes to read their letter.
Give Jewish students a voice.

This is Maya Platek, she’s Israeli & she was just elected as the Student Government President at the school for the 2024/2025 academic year!
“My name is Maya Platek. I am an Israeli rising senior and was recently elected as the Student Body President at Columbia University. As Columbia hits a peak of antisemitism and anti-Zionism, I am honored to have been elected as next year’s Student Body President. More than ever before, it is critical that our voices are heard and our safety is protected. ”
-Maya Platek, 2024/2025 President of Columbia University Student Government

Chanukah in Auschwitz.
“For a long time,” my father wrote, “we warmed ourselves at the thought of those candles, reminded of another generation of Jews who had the courage to believe that they would be victorious over their enemy”.
The thought alone of the candles warmed them.
Happy Chanukah, my beloved people and our cherished allies. Our enemies will hate us, they will attack us, they will scream intifada or pretend not to know what it means. Our light cannot be dimmed.
My team is tracking every hostage who's been released and we are taking their photos and moving them to the opposite side of our office.
It's truly impotent and cowardly that Hamas has taken even babies as hostages.
HAMAS MUST RELEASE ALL THE HOSTAGES NOW!
