I think it’s both. AI changes what gets exercised, but muscles you stop using for long enough do fade.

Before, when you hit an error, you searched, learned, and stored another skill. Now, many simply delegate it to AI. That feedback loop is growing as long as there’s electricity to keep it running. x)

In AI coding, owning the model matters less than controlling—and being able to inspect—the system around it.
