A year ago, I shared the beginnings of our research on improving long-term care for older people living with HIV at the Place Like Home Symposium. The experience still challenges and inspires my ideas on belonging 🫶 https://t.co/lbNPsT2TBt @HeyNeighbourBC@SFUGero@sfuurban

This morning, @BCNPHA#HousingCentral went on a tour! We took a group to Heather Place, one of our non-market housing redevelopments. The first new building opened in 2020 with 67 new units. A second building is under construction and a future phase will see even more new homes.
Day 2 of the 2024 #HousingCentral Conference starts soon. We eagerly anticipate a keynote later today from Pulitzer Prize and Peabody Award-winning Indigenous journalist Connie Walker.
Building secure, comfortable, and accessible spaces for bicycles not only encourages people to get on their bikes, but it also has the added benefit of encouraging social connection! Check out the toolkit we've put together w/ @HappyCitiesTeam to learn more. 🚲
Can spaces for bicycles also be spaces for social interaction?
This bike room offers easy access to the street, with large windows & openings to the lobby. Why is it so effective? Download our new housing design toolkit with @HeyNeighbourBC to learn more: https://t.co/aIKwe4FC9h
We are truly grateful to once again co-present Canada's premier affordable-housing conference along with our #HousingCentral partners @ahma_bc and @chfbc!

Thank you to @GenWellProject for hosting a dynamic and inspiring conference on the power of #socialconnection! It was a pleasure to hear more about the great work happening across this space and to network with so many incredible, like-minded people! We're also grateful for the opportunity to present, alongside @HappyCitiesTeam, our shared vision for fostering social connection in multi-unit housing.
@petebombaci, the founder of GenWell, reminded us that “Self-care doesn’t always need to be by yourself”'—a sentiment that resonates deeply with our work at HNC. Like Pete, we find that small acts of kindness and support from our social networks, neighbours, and even strangers can deeply impact a person’s wellbeing. That’s why our work is dedicated to creating more opportunities for those meaningful moments.
