Yesterday I had a couple hours to spend cleaning the vehicles that I drive a Pickup that was donated to HPS by First Dakota and a car that was donated by my Aunt and Uncle Bill and Linda. Truly these vehicles are a bigger blessing than I can express. They were dirty inside and out. They have taken me thousands of miles from South Dakota, Minnesota, North Dakota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Wyoming, Missouri, Indiana, Kentucky, Montana, Ohio, Kansas, Nebraska, Georgia and more. They both need gas and oil changes, which we all know cost more than ever and raising money to keep us on the road is not easy(well for me it’s not, I wish I was a better fundraiser)and I was feeling a bit sorry for myself. As I listen to a sermon and music while I did this. The song Weary Travel came on twice! Well let just say, no time to feel sorry only time to continue to serve others. Please help me get to the 6 Distracted Driving Presentations I have this week. And take time to listen to the story behind Weary Traveler. I think God knew I needed to hear this today.

Back in Mitchell for another Distracted Driving Presentation! Another great group of young people, they had great energy and great questions! Was told I should be a Pastor, then that I should be in Movies!

Went to Pierre for a Funeral today. I knew Darren as a quiet and strong man. I seen him be there for his wife and kids during a tough time, with lots of unknowns ahead. I was in a Hospital room not knowing if his son would live the next hour until Darren and Lana would get there in time. As soon as they walked in I really felt their presence lift the stress and pain off their son and healing began. Many days later Lukas was on the road to recovery and is now a Dad himself! Through Darrens strength and guidance they overcame and stayed together. And through Darren’s fight they they again stayed together! Today his Family and Friends had to say good bye for now but we will see you in Heaven!
Miss my Dad,. Been 5 years still wish we could play another round of golf. I know I made him shake his head a lot but I hope he is proud as he watches over from Heaven.
When the season ends, the record is what’s remembered publicly…but it’s not the most important thing you built.
The conversations no one saw. The standards you set. The way you showed up day after day. The way you led, even under pressure.
That’s the legacy.
Wins and losses come and go. Jobs can change. Seasons end. But the impact you’ve made in the lives of your players and staff, that goes with them long after this season is over. Coach, what you built still matters. And it always will. 🏀
Had some fun while Amy was away last week. Took the 2 oldest (Maren and Noah) girls to Dance, Suds Stop for Supper and to visit Grandma Lois, they spent the night with me (they had to take care of me while Mimi was gone)! Then more fun the next day!
