HIView celebrates 10 years!! of exciting #drone explorations. Our #FlyingSensors have executed countless missions, in different parts of the world. And many to follow.
HiView completed the Flying Sensor training at ADVZ in Tete, MZ. Assisted by @ThirdEyeWater and @FutureWaterNL.Piloting and image processing.
Delivered 10x Rapid Eye XS: light, low-budget and NDVI map processing in-flight. To view problem zones immediately on cellphone in-field.
Last Monday and Tuesday, HiView, together with @FutureWater, was at @ihedelft to conduct guest lectures about #drones for agriculture. Yesterday, despite bad weather, we practised in field @WURfieldcrops, the farm of the future near Lelystad.
The HiFarm project for maize, coffee and tea farms in Kenya is successfully completed. HiView and @ThirdEyeWater committed 558 #drone flights in 1,5 year. Thx to our AgPilots Veronicah Nyaguthii, Purity Kinya, manager Kiogora Julius and partners @FutureWaterNL @HGTKenya.
This week HiView conducted a short course on Flying Sensors for the Agençia de Desenvolvimento do Vale Zambeze, next to performing flights for farmers. In #Tete and Benga, middle west of #Mozambique. Together with @ThirdEye and @FutureWater.
First half of March HiView has been executing flights for @Natuurmonument at the Veluwe. #multispec images will be converted to vegetation index maps that will be used to detect the dissemination of a specific moss, #campylopus introflexus. Together with @BorgmanBeheer.
Last week Martijn de Klerk @FutureWaterNL and me conducted lectures @ihedelft. Also had a field excursion and gave a #drone flight demo at @Landbouwbedrijf Schipper in #Zinkweg. Thank you Hans Schipper for hosting us. And thanks to the motivated students.

At work again abroad. First trip after Covid 19 takes Hiview to Egypt to conduct field school days. Together with @FutureWaterNL and @IrriWatch, supported by @RVO_Nederland. At 4 different locations, about 100km around Cairo. Monitoring crops by using aerial imagery from #drones.
New technologies are the future for the young agriculture generation! To build technical skills, @egertonunikenya & @FutureWaterNL developed the training course “Using flying sensors and crop growth models to increase food production in Kenya’’. Read more: https://t.co/nkSogRFjG4
Flying at the break of day, exciting! This week HiView and @FutureWaterNL performed flights for a pear grower in Zeeland. Using a #thermal cam to map the temp in the pearyard. Over big ventilators that chase the night #frost. Cooperation with a research team from @tudelft.
Today closing webinar for an online tailor made training for NARC in Jordan on using #drones for agricultural applications. The @DUPC_2 funded course was implemented by @ihedelft, @FutureWaterNL & @HiViewNL. Course materials on #WebODM are available at https://t.co/rbyMRUvGND!
March-April, HIView and @FutureWaterNL conducting a series of eTrainings on Flyings Sensors & crop imagery for @EgertonUniv in #Kenya (supp by @Nuffic) Reaching out to a few hundreds of participants. Great to share knowledge.
During 2020 HiView worked for @Natuurmonument with @BorgmanBeheer. Mapping young upcoming trees in heather fields in an area of 1400ha in Drenthe, using NIR (Near InfraRed) cams.
From the resulting #CHM Canopy Height Model biomasses from all vegetation classes have been assessed.
In field today, 10 m/s wind. Flying our newly developped #minidrone + rgb/nir cam. 200g, low cost, auto capturing and RTH, very easy to control. Ideal for #smallscale, #quickresponse, #agriculture and various other sectors. Developed with Sam van Til. Supported by @H2020Projects
Today HiView performed test #drone flights with a thermal cam. In preparation of a MIT (from @RVO_Nederland) research project concerning frost that is a threat for fruityards. Together with @FutureWaterNL and @tudelft.
Together with my colleague Martijn de Klerk from @FutureWaterNL earlier this month we conducted lectures for @ihedelft. It feels good to share our knowledge, both practical and theoretical, with students interested in #drone technology.

Last week's lectures @ihedelft (Univ for Water Education from UN). Martijn de Klerk @FutureWaterNL and @HiViewNL conducting lectures on #drones imagery processing and flight demos. Extra: @landbouwbedrijfSchipper in #DeHoekscheWaard, showed us the machinery and stores.
Finishing the field campaign for @Natuurmonument in #Drenthe. Goal is to monitor upgrowth of young trees in the #heather fields. Flying 900km, resulting in thousands of images that will now be processed to generate vegetation elevation models.
@MtsJoling @Natuurmonument @ProvDrenthe@gem_westerveld Ga ik graag op in. Is alleen nog even puzzelen hoe het past in het drukke programma van morgen en zaterdag. Ik zal morgenavond even berichten. Maar in ieder geval dank je voor de uitnodiging. Groet, Jan
