Meet Kiyi, our ROV, affectionately named after the mysterious deepwater fish found only in Lake Superior.
June 6 @ 1 PM ET, Kiyi will be our eyes in the immense darkness, as we reach depths of up to 400m (1300ft), and explore a world few have ever seen. @GreatLakesNow

Ever wondered what’s hiding in the deepest, darkest corners of the Great Lakes?
We’re teaming up with @HiddenBelowFilm to send an underwater drone to the deepest known point in the Great Lakes on June 6 at 1 PM and livestream what we find.

@alpinerrrr@TVOdocs Sorry didn’t see you were taking about the dead fish. This is winter kill of gizzard shad around a power plant. That species doesn’t respond well to sharp drops in water temp so there is often morality.
This isn’t the ocean. It’s the Great Lakes.
"Hidden Below" is now in production — a new @TVOdocs documentary that uses robots to reveal the underwater world, from familiar species to ones you won’t believe live here.
@ScottMoler@TVOdocs We do a lot of work out of Alpena, and have gone out of Tawas a few times, but will definitely spend some more time there for this project!
@Wheezy79@TVOdocs Yes! Coming to Detroit PBS in June! We'll post exact dates here, but you'll also be able to stream it anywhere in the US through PBS as well!
