🌊 As marine development accelerates across the Red Sea and the wider Middle East, the need for reliable, high-quality environmental monitoring has never been greater.
Aligned with the ambitions of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and the growing regional focus on a sustainable Blue Economy, environmental monitoring plays a critical role in balancing coastal development, infrastructure growth, and the protection of sensitive marine ecosystems.
At LGES, we continuously invest in next-generation survey technologies and advanced subsea equipment to strengthen our marine environmental monitoring capabilities across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East. The integration of ROV-based solutions into our survey workflows enables our scientific teams to extend monitoring beyond diver-safe limits and access deeper or more complex environments while maintaining the scientific control required for robust environmental assessments.
By combining ROV surveys, scientific diving observations, and in-situ environmental measurements, LGES is able to improve spatial coverage, enhance habitat characterisation, and collect high-quality visual datasets that support reliable environmental reporting and informed project decision-making.
🤝We are pleased to see our operational approach and collaboration featured by @boxfishrobotics , an internationally recognized company developing advanced underwater robotic systems. Their technology enables safer, more efficient, and scientifically robust monitoring of marine environments, particularly in depth ranges and conditions where traditional survey methods become constrained.
As the region advances ambitious initiatives for marine conservation, coral restoration, and sustainable coastal development, innovative technologies such as ROV-based monitoring will play an increasingly important role in supporting responsible marine management.

This isn’t the ocean. It’s the Great Lakes.
"Hidden Below" is now in production — a new @TVOdocs documentary that uses robots to reveal the underwater world, from familiar species to ones you won’t believe live here.
In this video, ARV-i monitors the environment inside the cage.
During a typical mission, ARV-i departs from its dock fully charged and uses its onboard processors to detect fish and nets in real time. This allows it to closely observe the fish while safely navigating around nets and other obstacles.
Throughout the dive, ARV-i employs its cameras and AI systems to collect and organize data on asset health, including fish biomass. Upon returning to the dock, it recharges via a pinless connection while simultaneously uploading collected data to the cloud.
