@sny_knicks Glad everyone is starting to see the Spurs for what they are. A young arrogant team that has a lot to learn. You’ll never hear them give credit to an opponent.
@FTFonFS1@DannyParkins The Thunder were 11-10 this year when both Williams and Mitchell were out. The Spurs essentially beat a .500 team. It’s not necessarily the scoring OKC missed. It’s the ball handling-creation. Especially going up against a team with 3 all star caliber guards.
@BarryOnHere This means nothing without comparing it with their on court net rating. All this does is rate their supporting cast and front office’s ability to surround them with quality players.
@SamQuinnCBS Extremely lucky to land picks 1-4-2 in consecutive years. The odds of that scenario were less than 1%. Add to it that the year they landed 1 was the best prospect since LeBron. Just look at how many bad teams fall out of the top 4. They did it 3 times in a row.
@ThunderChats Don’t think it’s a Dort or Ajay thing. It’s do you work Dub in off the bench or don’t start the double big lineup. If I were betting though, Ajay comes off the bench but most likely is in whatever closing lineup you use. Some of it also depends on how the opponent defends SGA.
@UnSportsESPN This team was built much more by the PG trade and great scouting / development. Not tanking. 1 top 5 pick. Undrafted and 2nd rounders playing key roles. By contrast, the Spurs got 3 top 4 picks in a row. Two of them after winning the ultimate lottery for Wemby.
@whatsontapnba No problem with any of that…but the frustration lies in not being able to beat them, it’s just masked as a ref issue. Every team has guys who play “rougher” and guys who “flop”. It’s only an issue when your team loses. I haven’t heard the Spurs complain about “the OKC whistle”
@iamrahstradamus@BillSimmons No one is saying you aren’t allowed to make a mistake, but it’s a bad look. Especially when it’s obvious so many NBA talking heads are trying to discredit everything OKC does with ref driven narratives when almost every good team has players embellishing contact to draw fouls.
@GabeIkard I’d buy a brain fart if you just mentioned his name, but to add the “he was their 2nd best player” context isn’t just a slip of the tongue. It’s a lazy take given by someone who wasn’t paying attention.
@DamienPetersNBA You think this is a new idea? Teams have been doing different versions of it for 2 years. I can’t believe the number of NBA media members who make comments that tell me they don’t watch OKC games.
