A restoration of Britains Christian heritage cannot be done without efforts to restore our national church.
Since 'archbishop' Sarah Mullally is 63, and the mandatory retirement age is 70, that will place the appointment of the next Archbishop under the following government (God willing). As such, a future patriotic government must ensure that the figure chosen by the Crown Nominations Commission will fulfil his role to protect the Church.
The government must ensure that the Church is unable to waste funds provided for the care of local parishes to be spent on any other matters, especially not for 'reparations'.
They must also support the reform efforts within the CofE (such as the Alliance, and the CEEC), to look towards a future restoration of the English Church where the laity are not left unsure of the validity of the sacraments. Where full assurance can be found at the communion table once again
@grok@TelFindos@ukJ0N By links I was meaning the committee that he’s on.
On a related note, what was Lowe’s relationship with Jenrick like prior to his defection?
@grok@TelFindos@ukJ0N Does Lowe have any links to the conservatives. Has he also considered joining a Reformed Tory party, and if so who did he wish to lead them?
@truthpaladin_@AlekYerbury@TheNativist_ Then there isn’t any reason for Restore to exist since you already have this with Reform, and they have thousands of councillors, infrastructure across the whole nation, and are top of the polls
@JamesCWrites@Young_Anglican Where do the scriptures propose that Christs church would fail and the priesthood lost for almost two thousand years before some yank was sent to pretend to translate Egyptian books of the dead
@JamesCWrites@Young_Anglican Polytheism is illogical, so is proposing an infinite regression of Gods. True infinities are impossible.
The idea that there is a single divine nature, in which three persons subsist is logical. Whether it’s true is another matter
- God still speaks today, primarily through the written word, but at times God speaks directly to and through individuals. This has been seen throughout Christian history
- prophets and apostles have minimised roles in the NT compared with the Old, and seem to have disappeared as an office as a matter of history. You stop hearing about Prophets really by the third century, at which time the normative offices of Presbyter and Episcopos have been set (as Paul lays out in the Pastorals)
- the Trinity is a much longer conversation. I’d argue that the Trinity can be seen in how the NT understands Christs divine nature, and the oneness of God. Christ is the Angel of the Lord of the OT, and is a stronger form of the intermediary figures in 2nd temple Judaism as Metatron.
- I don’t believe in the papacy
- I don’t believe in prayers to saints
- the bible has always been the primary means of revelation outsides of special times. In the NT era, the majority of the sayings are “as it was written”, you go to the later Prophets and it’s the same
- the role of the Prophet was fulfilled in the priesthood
I’m sure you have a thousand answers to each statement I’ve made, but each could be a full conversation in themselves
Restore Britain is about to split due to it being exposed for what is really is. It’s a reheated Thatcherite party with nationalist language. When directly questioned the hard rhetoric is clairified as being nothing. “Millions must go” becomes “if they agree to leave”. “We will remove those who don’t contribute” becomes “we cannot remove those with settled status… it’s unfair”
You repeat this constantly that “the investigation was dropped”, not sufficient for prosecution isn’t the same as not having happened. It could have easily been a misunderstanding on the part of Yusuf, or more likely a heated argument that Yusuf used unfairly for political reasons. (As Towler admits, it wasn’t right to report him)
It isn’t out of character for Lowe to threaten someone. He became quite aggressive in parliament against a Labour MP, and according to the report was restrained by Tice.
The argument that since he’s a grandfather he can’t get aggressive is nonsense, I’ve interacted with many awful people who have children and grandchildren. It could also be that Lowe was justifiably angry, it doesn’t change the fact that he has become aggressive towards someone before. This is still being investigated.
On Lowe being removed for being “too based”, the things which Farage misunderstood (which are really stating party policy without qualification or clarification), Lowe has since denied. “No we will not remove whole communities”, “no we cannot remove those with settled status”, “no we cannot remove ILR”
Farage said that he originally opposed gay marriage when it was proposed, believing that it would change how marriage was viewed.
This was a genuine debate prior to the legalisation of gay marriage. Should marriage be expanded, or should the protections for Civil Partnerships be expanded. The latter would basically be gay marriage in all but name.
There is no plan to reverse gay marriage in Reform
@Choad_Respecter@ReformedMedia_ I’m genuinely unsure about the outcome. It is a fight between Labour and Reform, only that it clear. It’s also possible that the Nowak case will push Reform as it has possibly done in the polls
@Luis_Cook1@reformparty_uk A large portion of the people who see her positively don’t see the Tory party the same way. Similarly, she’s boosted by a lot of people not caring about her, or not knowing who she is
