Proud Yorkshireman. Retired Black Rat, now riding the rails of HS1. Man of many pies & proper beer. NFL & Rugby fan. Views are my own.

[Howard Taylor @HighSpeed_H]

@RMcCarthy86 Was the North Bay Railway running? A childhood favourite over to Scalby Mills…….

[Howard Taylor @HighSpeed_H]

@paul_winginit @Se_Railway As HS1 train crew, I feel I need to correct you....
I like think that Eurostar are sharing OUR tracks as far as Ashford..🤔😂

[Howard Taylor @HighSpeed_H]

An autumnal walk at @BedgeburyP never fails to blow away those cobwebs as well as blowing my mind…🌲🌳🪾
One for @WoodlandNomad

[Howard Taylor @HighSpeed_H]

Today's shift was brought to you by the words "Chilham" and "Tree".
I've spent too much time in that area for my liking....
Waits for chainsaw operators course to be offered to train crew

A couple of quick shots at Prudhoe, yesterday lunchtime.

156489
1N73 1226 Newcastle - Carlisle

156481
1N56 1153 Carlisle - Newcastle

Was going to go for a walk, but the weather turned against me 🌧️☔️

[Howard Taylor @HighSpeed_H]

New 🛌 being delivered today.

Allocated slot 0715-0915.

What time do they turn up?

0715 on the dot.

That certainly makes a change compared to most other delivery companies.

Anyway, have a tram….

[Howard Taylor @HighSpeed_H]

@Guard_Ean @My_Metro It's weird that places like Pegswood and Acklington are included when there are only 2 train per day

[Howard Taylor @HighSpeed_H]

So that's @My_Metro longest distance single journey completed.

0946 St James - South Shields 1113
(full length of the 🟡 line)

🌍31mi 32ch
⏰1hr 27min
📍40 intermediate stops
🚉555017

I still miss not getting the "Drivers View" like on the old units

[Howard Taylor @HighSpeed_H]

@Guard_Ean @My_Metro Sunderland and Hexham are okay. Morpeth or Ashington - no way

[Howard Taylor @HighSpeed_H]

@Guard_Ean @My_Metro Yeah, it's half the price to go on to PRU from KGX, rather than just buy a ticket to NCL.
Might as well use it....

[Howard Taylor @HighSpeed_H]

@Guard_Ean @My_Metro Mine Prudhoe services were 1N73 and 1N56

[Howard Taylor @HighSpeed_H]

@JGourd7 @LNER Wash your mouth out.....

[Howard Taylor @HighSpeed_H]

Heading to a city with a river that's allegedly foggy 🤔

[Howard Taylor @HighSpeed_H]

@Guard_Ean @LNER I’ve come prepared.

I noticed that it’s closed between St James and Monkseaton from tomorrow for 9 days, so I moved my trip up today.

[Howard Taylor @HighSpeed_H]

@Guard_Ean @LNER I’m off to do the yellow line loop on the Metro, then out to PRU later.

@every_station On our motorcycle training courses, we use to base ourselves in Becon, staying at the Borderers B&B - opposite the South Wales Bordrers museum (of “Zulu” film fame).
The owner was formally a guitarist with the 70’s group “Sparks”

[Howard Taylor @HighSpeed_H]

So the bridge at Thorne North was hit again yesterday afternoon - this time by a 🚜 hauling giant Weetabix!
Thankfully I was on a earlier train home

[Howard Taylor @HighSpeed_H]

Bridge strike by Thorne North station this morning.

Caused not only hours of cancelled @northernassist services, but completely blocked up the town centre similarly.
#bridgestrike

[Howard Taylor @HighSpeed_H]

@every_station Well it’s just a short walk to the “Draughtsman” from there!

[Howard Taylor @HighSpeed_H]

@DkwonMark It was Thai night in my local pub last night

[Howard Taylor @HighSpeed_H]
