🚨 Sony Price News 🚨
Sony seems to be selling their True RGB TV sets at lower prices in France compared to the USA.
I’ve converted the official Sony prices to USD with French taxes removed.
Sony BRAVIA 9 II
65” $2,924
75” $3,411
85” $4,874
115” 19,499

@Bigdogcashc0zr They’ve taken a step back & the competition has taken a step forward, but Sony is still the leader in a number of PQ areas, particularly upscaling & picture processing.
No need to agree though. Everybody is entitled to their opinion as far as I’m concerned.
“Curiously, there are no color management system (CMS) adjustments, a standard feature on many TVs. When I asked Sony why this was the case, I received this reply:” 1/2 🧵 ⬇️

“the BRAVIA 7 II displayed excellent color, contrast and detail throughout.”
“High-contrast shots of brightly-lit objects and animals against a pitch black background showed no signs of backlight blooming”

@Bigdogcashc0zr They’re definitely not perfect, but I’ll always side with the TV that provides superior picture quality over newer features.
Obviously that’s a subjective & personal decision, so it’s up to everyone to weigh the pros & cons before coming to a conclusion.
“Thanks to our rigorous factory calibration process — backed by our engineering design that accurately calculates and optimizes performance at the production stage — color accuracy and gamma are already dialed in. A simple white balance/greyscale adjustment is all that’s needed to achieve reference picture quality, and everything else falls into line automatically.”

@johnsboyd Yep & to a lesser extent with the original Bravia 7/9 launch too. It’ll be interesting to see how quickly & aggressively they lower prices throughout the year.

@Denardo88337382 It'll probably retest that low real soon to help clear out old stock with the mark II hitting shelves in a few weeks. A good bet is Prime Day or July 4th.
@majid_moussaoui I’m aware, but comparing pre-tax American prices with post-tax French ones is like comparing apples & oranges, which is why I deducted it before converting.
