This #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek, we urge decision-makers to be ambitious and devise a long-term plan for the wellbeing of all of our children & young people.
Focusing on earlier intervention will help to relieve pressure on our NHS & contribute positively to the economy. (3/5)
@LucyFacer @Paul_Convery @RowChampion@staff_heather Is there evidence that people are making fewer car journeys overall?
I’m brave enough to admit that that my own behaviour hasn’t changed: I often cycle or walk but I do still drive - same number of car journeys but now each one just takes a bit longer (so is more polluting!).
To mark the start of #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek, Place2Be's Royal Patron The Princess of Wales (@KensingtonRoyal) met with primary school children to discuss the importance of supporting children’s #mentalhealth, and connecting with others. 💛

Ahead of a cold winter, we anticipate a high demand for coats and winter accessories. If your little one(s) has grown out of last year's winter coat, consider donating it to support a family in need.

As a Council Leader, I have to make tough choices every day.
But providing universal free school meals in Islington's primary schools isn't one of them, it's a no brainer.
Delighted to speak on @BBCr4Today this morning about @IslingtonBC's long-standing free school meals policy
But this plan doesn’t contain detail on how this will be achieved or funded.
We need to see the delivery of the Government’s 10-year mental health plan so that no child or young person faces #mentalhealth issues alone. (2/2)
Donate £10 at the link, and you could end up with a pair of tickets to an exclusive Ed Sheeran show. All money raised will go towards keeping our service up and running 💙 https://t.co/d6Vx8Eq0XF
I volunteer at @EH_Highbury foodbank.
Today, an anonymous donor from Highbury Fields Assn, popped in and donated £2000 in the Queen’s memory.
What a lovely kindness.

When someone well-known dies, it can be difficult to know how to support children and young people through that loss.
We’ve shared some advice to help families and schools support children over the coming days.

@meropemills Thinking of you and your family today Merope, and above all remembering your beautiful Martha. Thank you for sharing the details of your unbelievably heartbreaking experience - it must have been so incredibly hard to write but is so important for as many as possible to read.
@CarolineRussell Totally agree Caroline.
However, the no.4 bus route has been badly affected by the increased traffic on St Paul’s Rd/Highbury corner, resulting in longer journey times and a less reliable service. Surely this must have been a factor in the TFL proposal to scrap it?
@iamfinlay@bex_osborn@HighburyKeep@hwallop It certainly has an Emperor’s New Clothes feel to it - if we just on keep telling everyone how brilliant the LTN is, they’ll ignore what they can actually see with their own eyes.
And/or they will want to be "in" with the right people so will pretend they like it.
Does the council have any expertise in traffic management..or is it making up half baked solutions on the trot? It seems like the council will do anything except open up the LTNs. It’s a farce
@IslingtonBC It demonstrates utter incompetence that these (measly) measures weren’t put in place proactively.
PLEASE stop being so stubborn - open up the filters so traffic isn’t sitting outside Ambler school for an hour spewing out fumes. As an LTN resident I support that solution.
@HighburyPenguin@kaejlaab@HighburyKeep Yes - I live inside an LTN and don’t support it! And I think the majority my neighbours feel similarly. Sadly a few who are in the minority appear to be the ones who are listened to.
