@haringeycouncil has voted to let all Haringey Blue Badge holders through ALL Haringey LTN filters. Come on Kaya & Rowena time to dump your fiddly individual exemption scheme and follow suit for Islington BBHs @InIslington@RowChampion@IslingtonBC@KayaJunction @Paul_Convery
Whist @IslingtonBC celebrate their certificate from the cycling campaign group's 'Healthy Scorecard'
Is this success criteria to make St Mary's LTN permanent? Poisoning the AQ & lungs of those that live and use these sacrificial roads?
@RowChampion@KayaJunction @Paul_Convery
The stats on vehicle increases on Blackstock Road (12K to 19K+ a day) show the devastating displacement caused by LTNs, a pattern of traffic relocation repeated all over London. The blinkered council approach that LTNs are the answer now what’s the question needs to stop & fast.
A very wet Tuesday late afternoon. No point catching the bus though- queue almost at Almeida street going North. This cannot continue for a year!@IslingtonBC @CarolineRussell@IslingtonTrib
Holloway Road now looks like this all the time at any time of day. More pollution for those working, living and commuting along this road. Why does no one care?
@CarolineRussell@IslingtonBC We need an emergency public meeting to consider the impact of these works on the community that is hemmed in by the ltn’s and the gridlock on Holloway Road. Please organise an urgent public meeting so you can hear directly the distress that residents are facing.
@indieHackney@carltonreid@SocEnvJustice@peterwalker99@LittleNinjaUK@KatharinaH42 Its the rhetoric of the “rat run”….. no one likes it … until they do it. That and the fact that “their” journey is always essential and not just more convenient. Or their deliveries are more essential. Or their overseas holiday isn’t bad for the environment.
@ShimanoSteve@SocEnvJustice@bertil_hatt@ProperDemocrat@andrewellson@ediz1975 Same in Highbury’s LTNs - they still have traffic - the roads aren’t closed. Zero children playing out in the street (unless there’s a play street or a photo op!) There is much more dumped rubbish on every street corner inside and outside of the LTNs.
@CarolineRussell@ProfJAnderson@TfL@IslingtonBC What does “ensure there is always access look like??” There’s always access now but it doesn’t stop constant solid traffic on the boundary roads.
In fact the diversion signs are unclear but seem to be sending cars through the cameras. Please can someone @IslingtonBC confirm that the cameras are closed. As usual total disorganisation and no planning. Shoddy
@IslingtonBC the top of Highbury Hill appears to be closed (despite signs saying access only) but the camera on Martineau/HHill appears to be still in operation. Not sure why the sign is there as you can’t go through that camera anyway!! 🧐@RowChampion@CarolineRussell
A pro-cycling “campaigner” appointed to head a review into controversial low-traffic neighbourhoods (LTNS) will declare them a success in a “whitewash” report, a Government committee has been told. More than 13,000 people signed an online petition on a

@Jono_Kenyon@JonathanWinn19@HighburyKeep@KatharinaH42@hold_bag@PaulTho00620544@Jono_Kenyon you can campaign for cleaner air or support LTNs, not both! The issues are in direct conflict and contradictory. Much like a Labour party that claims to work for those who need the help most & selfish LCC campaigns to disproportionately affect those on boundary rds
@Jono_Kenyon@JonathanWinn19@KatharinaH42@hold_bag@PaulTho00620544 The LTNs of Highbury (where the majority of cars are) push all the traffic into Blackstock Road already. How on earth would a bus gate work. What about the children at Ambler, the people who live and work on BR… shame on you for pushing traffic onto them.
