Cornell University professor Robert Sternberg listed the reasons people like standardized testing, and why it's so hard to get rid of them, in this 2011 piece in IHE.

@JonBoeckenstedt@EdWriters There are a number of BIPOC people who are focused on the work and not their profile. I truly believe it's one of the reasons that you tend to see the same people nationally/regionally. It might be enlightening to ask them why some pulled out of professional orgs and circles.

What have your students taught YOU so far this semester #AcademicTwitter? Mine have taught me about hustle. Single parents, 2+ jobs, paying for siblings to go to school, 18 credits and killing that 4.0, coming back at 40. @uicdpa @UICCUPPA@thisisUIC students amaze

So proud to be here at the graduation ceremony of the first class of African American students that I helped recruit to @thisisUIC. Thanks @AAAN_UIC for letting me be a small part of celebrating our African American graduates.
It's graduation season... I'm sitting in an establishment off campus and an African American woman comes in with her @thisisUIC cap and gown. Applause erupts from a table of diverse professionals who did not know her. More of that please. #celebrate#uicgrads#proudadministrator
