Last, with the snow and wind, Polk County will be determining plow operations early tomorrow morning. If they are unable to go out and plow the earliest they will be out would be Friday Morning at 2 am. Stay home and stay safe.@HighwayPolk

With the rain we will have the possibility of localized flooding on some roadways. Culverts are full of snow and may not open up. So if there is water over the roadway please do not venture thru the water. The roadway may washout before the culvert becomes unplugged.

Well its another Wednesday and another storm posting. Ugh... Polk County is expected to receive freezing rain around 5 pm today, then snow around 10 pm, and wind. Wind to begin at about 1 am tomorrow and not let up until 1 am Friday.

@HighwayPolk Well the sun is finally shining and the temperatures are supposed to increase. Those of you living and driving on our gravel roads, we will be working over the weekend to get them back into shape. With the rain and snow, they have become saturated and soft.
