I've registered my comments and I'd urge you to too. I was a councillor when this last came to committee, and we made the strong case that keeping the bike lane was imperative. nothing's changed
we either support safe sustainable travel or we don't
'In the six days since a law to prosecute dangerous cyclists was announced, ...close to 30 people will have been killed on UK roads, none of them struck by bikes. About 500 more will have suffered serious, potentially life-changing injuries...[mostly] connected to motor vehicles'
On the Bike Blog, I argue that the latest moral panic about cyclists is yet example of how the UK argues furiously around the margins of modernising towns and cities, while many other countries just get on with building stuff that improves lives.

The @TfL Green Link Walk had launched today! This walk has everything: marshes and forest, squares, parks and canals. We so pleased see the walk launched after years working with partners to create it. #fingerpostfriday
Flashback to a fortnight ago when 100 riders swapped January blues for Berrylands' blue skies on our sunshine-filled group ride. Read all about our 3rd family-friendly event on https://t.co/ryR2V9Nat3 & sign up for our next fun-packed ride (Victoria Rec Ground, Sun 28 April).
10.05 from Surbiton to Hampton Court left early? I was on platforms 3/4 at 10.03 - no sign. The delayed Basingstoke train was on Platform 3, & I was told the Hampton Court Train had changed platform (assume to 4), and had already departed. What kind of a service is that? @SW_Help
What a fantastic day to explore our borough! With the mayor cheering us on & our smiling marshals keeping everyone safe, this is what 100 happy riders of all ages look like as they have fun discovering new cycle-friendly routes across Kingston. #StreetsForPeople#ActiveTravel
Bicycles can change the world!
At a time when women had little freedom, the bicycle presented itself as a way to pedal into independence. Bicycles changed the way women travelled, the way they dressed and the way they were viewed by society.

In September the Prime Minister and his Government announced delays for key climate commitments , tearing up plans to tackle vehicle emissions & phase out gas boilers .
Today I can announce I'm taking them to the High Court – but I need your help .
