@TTRockStars Yes, have checked junk. Your emails were originally getting bounced for me which is why I tried a different address. Probably need to contact our ICT people if the problem is definitely not at your end. Thanks for getting back to me
@TTRockStars we've sent several emails to support@mathscircle over the last 2 weeks with no replies (from different school email addresses just in case) any idea if the issue might be your end or ours? Need urgent support
To complement our @TTRockStars Rock Wrangle in Key Stage 2, we held our first Mini Wrangle in Year 2 this year. Watch out for these Times Tables Superstars, they'll be coming for the main title (and trophy!) next year!!
Last week we held our Second Annual @TTRockStars Rock Wrangle competition. It was an even hotter contest than last year and one of our amazing Year 4 pupils came out victorious this time! (all of that MTC training has served him well!) A massive well done to all of our finalists!
Last week we sent 2 teams of Year 5 children to compete in the @BurntwoodSchool Maths Treasure Hunt. After several rounds of problem-solving, tower building and code-cracking, the Hillbrook Beavers emerged victorious! A great effort by both teams who were a credit to the school!
Four of our Year 5 pupils have been enjoying a series of fascinating Saturday Maths Masterclasses at the Royal Institution @Ri_Science throughout the Autumn Term. Here are two of our very proud Mathematicians collecting their certificates during their final session!
Y1 have loved exploring shape. Building on shape names learnt in reception, we can now recognise and name hexagons, trapeziums and parallelograms and rotate them to make patterns. We explored tetrominoes and pentominoes, making as many shapes as we could out of 4 or 5 squares.
This week we held our first annual @TTRockStars Rock Wrangle! Congratulations to all of our finalists and to our amazing winner - A true Rock Hero! Special mention must also go to the three Year 2 children who made it all the way to the semi final!! We are so proud of you all! πΈ
π―A little later in the year than usual (βΉοΈ), children in the Early Years have been celebrating 100 days in school this week by using their handprints to make 100 fingers and counting them in 10s! π
Reception have been thinking about shapes again this week, naming 2D shapes, talking about their properties and even combining them to see what new shapes can be made!
Year 3 have been working hard to develop their understanding of fractions and have been doing some great work with Unit Fractions over the past few weeks!
Our Nursery children have been thinking about triangles. What a fantastic variety of different triangles they have been presented with by their teachers and some fab reasoning here about a 'near example' from one of our youngest Hillbrook pupils!
Year 4 have taken every opportunity to spread out as they get to grips with understanding the place value of each digit in 4-digit numbers! Hands πup who remembers using Base 10 blocks like these when they were at school!!
It has been so great to see all of our children settling back into school this term. Year 2 have got straight into the swing of things, consolidating their summer learning about numbers to 100
