Mine take longer than most but I don't have a terrible amount of sin. A lot of my time is encouragement and a process to become more Holy.
I also talk to my priest often so he may be more comfortable talking a while.
Have a genuine complete confession and do not worry about your time, Jesus knows you.
@Jeffrey32892889@MLJHaynes@CatholicHerald Gay priests are what caused so many to leave the church when they had relations with kids. The majority of the victims were older than the age threshold of pedophile so they are classified as gay.
If they consider themselves gay that needs to be a consideration.
@FieldMellissa@_InfoGram_ Because I beleive in one God, and the world's savior Jesus Christ who suffered. Suffering is a part of this life.
That fetus is a human, don't distract yourself from what you are advocating the killing of.
@FusedCL@_InfoGram_ Yes, each life is individually equal. You realize 64 million humans have been aborted and the entire population of Iran is 93 million right?
Neither killing 1 million individual lives or 1 unborn human should be celebrated.
Haha, who was St. Liguori like, who was St. Dominic like? They were like nobody else and followed the Holy Spirit.
We should be like the sould God has known and loved since before Earth was formed.
If that isn't enough for you then be like the Father. You, therefore, must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect. - Matthew 5:48
I offer a quote from chapter 10 from "The Sinner's Guide by Venerable Louis of Granada, OP.
"Why, then, O rash man, will you - for a passing pleasure- so lightly assume the terrible burden of sin, without considering your strength to bear it? Will you not reflect on the heavy weight you thus condemn yourself to bear for all eternity? To help you do this I shall offer you a few considerations which will enable you to realize in some measure the greatness of the punishment reserved for sin."
He said all men should be satisfied with the least part of the happiness and greatness of God should be enough, but he seems to have acknowledged some men need more to behave.
The friar who asked the question first should feel compelled to read The Sinners Guide written by a brother from his order, you Fr. Joe may want to read it because it is good heavy reading.
I know a homily is different than preaching but most Catholics will only hear 20 minuets of religious inspiration per week. No liturgy of hours, no daily readings, no rosary, no prayer. I am convinced they don't even live this way on purpose, they just dont understand what they are missing, hence the warning of the eternal separation from God.
This really worries me because how can a man know what he doesn't know? I am afraid I know the answer (request a grace to learn and be shown) and I pray God has mercy on our ignorance even though we don't deserve it
You are not correct. If this example were true the waitress has small children and knows that every day is a challenge. Fighting for survival emotionally, financially, and with babies physically. A manager at a diner is also "poor" and would understand that a person who gets beat up in so many ways should not be abused, it could put them over the edge.
This world is not for us as individuals, it is for us as a community. This scenario could make a child who may have grown up to be Saint Alphonsus, instead grow up to be Ted Bundy.
The seriousness with how we treat people, especially those already under stress is so much bigger than you can see.
This is why Jesus has such a LOVE for the humble, poor, troubled people.
You say you are old, I would work hard to change this behavior before you run out of time. Your average family is hurting more than you know and they dont need you to remind them they are screwing up.
Peace be with you, amd spread peace.
He went against the pharisees because they established laws and rules to honor themselves rather than God. They used His name to manipulate people and worship in thier own way. It feels like you may be developing your own ideas. Please support some of your ideas with scripture.
You are right and a person will have both. Internal peace is complete knowing God loves us and has infinite mercy. Jesus died for us to open a door to eternal heaven.
Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.โ - Matthew 11:28-30
Jesus said to him, โYou have believed because you have seen me. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe.โ - John 20:29
But some one will say, โYou have faith and I have works.โ Show me your faith apart from your works, and I by my works will show you my faith. - James 2:18
Jesus is proud of your faith and testimony to his love. I did not mean to imply any negative thoughts, if I did then you corrected me.
โDo not think that I have come to bring peace on earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. and he who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for my sake will find it. And whoever gives to one of these little ones even a cup of cold water because he is a disciple, truly, I say to you, he shall not lose his reward.โ - Matthew 10:34, 38-39, 42
He did not say he who believes in me and gives no help to the thirsty.
We do not help eachother or partake in the sacraments out of guilt. There is much peace.
Many Saints were uncomfortable.
I can not and will not attempt to say who will or will not get to heaven. I worry it will be far less than modern society expects.
@ptlemic@Cernovich@jason_howerton Islam was born this way. We pray for the grace to understand but conpared to God our faliable interpretations will usually be ignorant.
Jesus spoke plainly for us and the work of the early Doctors of the Church is a gift in understanding.
You could, we can not know. The mercy of God is immense. As a person I would not assume I am going to heaven and I do want to make as much effort to receive the unearned gift of heaven.
Maybe all the work of a proper Catholic was unnecessary, maybe it is not. The gate is wide that leads to hell, I will not assume I am going through the narrow door and will use as many sacraments as I can.
Me: I need a baptism for my son, I am in the military near nobody and know zero good standing Catholics. No friends, no family, nobody.
Them: Fill out the forms and just find someone to "say" they will godparent.
Me: I will not lie in an agreement with God.
Them: bye.
I left the church for 8 years over that interaction and it almost cost my soul until I met the right priest. This event seems simple but it really hurt me... bad.
My son's and I are all faithful Catholics still.
