This morning (Nov 30th) former health minister @LordPhilofBrum will introduce his Protection of Care Recipients and Carers Bill in the House of Lords. We think this will be after oral questions and before the days debate on NHS - about 1145. https://t.co/Vqks3hdnNo
It isn't about testing, it's about humanity and ethics. So if we can't rely on them we need law to protect our closest relationships. Not just in care homes but throughout the health system https://t.co/d9zgfN1da2 via @MailOnline
2020: Hancock: We’ve thrown a protective ring around care homes to protect the elderly & vulnerable.
2023: The reality: Hancock was warned it was 'inhumane' to ban visitors in care homes @Relresuk

Many support groups, care home groups, charities & individuals are supporting our call for the right to maintain contact to be enshrined in law. Don't be left behind! Add your logo to the growing list! Dms open, we would love to have you join us! #rightsforresidents
Language such as 'allowing' visitors is unacceptable and should no longer be used. The people who patients and residents love must be WELCOMED https://t.co/FGObiecDAS
Emotional afternoon in Parliament listening to powerful speeches from MPs across political parties supporting our call for a right to a #CareSupporter. Thanks to all the MPs for their support. Now to make sure this happens!

@meaglemp@rightsforresid2@HouseofCommons Thank you Maria on behalf of residents and relatives across the UK. So many of us were watching at home. You spoke so well on this issue and we are so grateful
If you have a family member or close friend, especially an older one, going into hospital for major surgery you must visit them & you must be able to stay with them. Your care, voice & face could be vital to their recovery. This isn’t opinion it is medical fact.
I’m not an Estate Agent, and I know a great deal about hospital/care home visiting restrictions and the heartbreaking damage they do. @JohnCampaign@rightsforresid2
Why is tomorrow's debate so important.31 months after the doors closed in care homes, there are, today, still restrictions. With @relresuk@JohnCampaign we submitted the below to MPs, tomorrow they debate "guaranteeing the right to contact in care" #rightsforresidents
Worrying that Joyce Pinfield of @NationalCareAsc quotes outdated guidance on @BBCBreakfast saying you may be turned away during a care home outbreak as only 1 visitor allowed. Since March guidance does not limit who visits so long as it is one at a time @rightsforresid2
Today's debate in parliament "Guaranteeing the right to maintain contact in care" must and will cover hospitals as well - no one should be denied that personal support @JohnCampaign@relresuk#rightsforresidents
Without #Gloriaslaw care homes will continue to do as they please. Residents have no guarantee of seeing loved ones & this is a basic human right. It really is still happening that some care homes are denying visits. Without law it will always be in their hands. @rightsforresid2
