When hospitals and community centers are threatened and intimidated because they support LGBTQI+ children and families, we have to speak out. We must stop hate and violence.
Edward Mitchell Bannister (b. 1828) was an active abolitionist & award winning painter of Barbadian ancestry as well as a founding board member of the Rhode Island School of Design & the Providence Art Club. His work took first prize at the 1876 Philadelphia Centennial.
Our criminal justice system has long been biased against people of color.
And sentencing disparities between crack and cocaine have only made that worse.
Attorney General Garland is right to do away with those inequitable distinctions.
This is long overdue.
Everyone should have a safe, decent, affordable place to call home this holiday season.
