A building that housed offices for the CIA, Dept of Defense, Secret Service and SEC.

G3 Ministries has been all over my timeline this week.

And every time another story, post, or thread pops up about the controversy, I keep seeing something strangely familiar…

My own artwork.

I’m the designer who created G3’s current logo and brand identity.

And ironically, the story behind that logo is directly connected to G3’s previous controversy.

Back in January 2025, I made a fun post comparing the logos of nine Christian ministries. G3 was one of them.

Apparently, it sparked an idea.

Not long afterward, Josh Buice reached out about redesigning G3’s logo. We agreed on the project, and by May we were deep into the process and nearing the finish line.

Then everything changed.

The news broke about Josh’s anonymous accounts, he resigned, and suddenly the logo I had spent months developing was sitting unfinished on my computer.

Interestingly, Tom Buck encouraged me to reach out to Scott Aniol about continuing the project. I explained where the project stood and told him there was no pressure to continue. But I also mentioned that perhaps, after such a difficult season, a new identity could help represent a fresh chapter for G3.

Scott Aniol and the new leadership decided to continue.

We made additional revisions, the design went before the board, and eventually we landed on the identity G3 has used for the past year.

And I genuinely loved it.

The open Bible silhouette with the church centered inside is still one of my favorite ministry logos I’ve designed. It became one of the most recognizable pieces in my portfolio, and quite a few churches and ministries have found me because of it.

Which makes this week particularly sad.

A logo finished in the aftermath of one controversy, intended to represent a fresh chapter, is now appearing everywhere in coverage of another controversy involving the leaders who carried G3 into that chapter.

There’s an irony there I can’t ignore.

I believe branding matters.

A good logo can communicate your mission, theology, history and values to the people around you.

But there’s something even the best logo can never do:

A new identity cannot create new character.

You can change the logo, website, colors and messaging.

But branding cannot manufacture integrity or cover character problems that haven’t actually been dealt with.

That’s not merely a lesson about G3. It’s a sobering reminder for every ministry and every Christian.

As a designer, I can help communicate what an organization says it is.

Character determines whether that message is true.

I’m still grateful for the opportunity I had to create the G3 identity, and I’m still proud of the design.

But Scripture gives a warning far more important than anything I could ever put in a brand guide:

“There is nothing covered that won’t be uncovered, nothing hidden that won’t be made known.” Luke 12:2

Logos come and go.

Character matters far more.

Why won’t Turning Point USA publicly acknowledge the alleged text message leak from Charlie Kirk to Dan Flood?

Andrew Wilson is not a party to the text messages as he did not know Charlie at all. Can @MrsErikaKirk or @AndrewKolvet confirm their authenticity?

If not, the pubic is right to assume they are completely fake.
