these hydration breaks are calm, but it’s funny how during ramadan people completely lost their heads over games being paused for 30 secs - 1 minute so muslim players could break their fast. i still remember the game vs leeds when cherki, ait-nouri & marmoush were booed. the hypocrisy is unreal
Me, working in a GP surgery, having a consultation and the patient casually asks:
“Did you come to this country by boat?”
At this point, nothing can shock me anymore
Three months ago today, a war began that no one voted for — and the cost has been paid by people who had no say in it.
Thousands of civilians have lost their lives. Thirteen U.S. servicemembers will never come home to their families.
Americans across this country and our city have watched prices rise at the pump and the grocery store, their budgets strained by a conflict launched without a single vote of Congress.
Every life lost abroad and every dollar squeezed from a working family here is part of the same reckless bill, handed to the people who could least afford it by those who will never pay it themselves.
I opposed this war from the first day. I oppose it still. It must end.

okay.......I'm sat! what research would be prioritized? this is a better use of our subsidy money tbh!
I'm thinking research focusing on improving lifespan should be top of the list, there are certain illnesses that are peculiar to black people and nigeria being the most populous black nation in the world should be leading the charge in finding its cure or complete eradication things like Fibroids in black women, hypertension, diabetes & Malaria etc should be prioritized. we should set a 10yr goal towards total eradictation of malaria witha malaria vaccine.
Next should be agriculture and food security as well as reforestation of the north east zone. those are major contributors to insecurity in the region.
also these research shouldnt just be gathering dust on university shelfs, there should be a pipeline of research commercialization, patenting and industry partnerships.
NNPC just completed a pipeline crossing under the River Niger and most Nigerians don’t understand how big this is.
OB3 pipeline now unlocks 2 billion cubic feet of gas per day. Two billion. Every single day. That gas powers electricity, factories, industries.
Nigeria has always had the gas. The problem was never supply it was moving it from where it’s produced to where it’s needed. This pipeline connects East to West. That bottleneck just got removed.
They already did the AKK crossing last year. Now OB3. Two river Niger crossings back to back. The gas grid is actually coming together.
The target is 12 billion cubic feet per day by 2030. Right now we’re nowhere close. But infrastructure like this is how you get there. No infrastructure no industrialization. Simple.
This is the kind of news that should trend. Not because it’s exciting but because your light bill depends on it.
