the cruel nature of the US is its birthright. It is exactly who we, as a country, are. (As individuals, no. As a country, yes). Sometimes cruelty wins. Sometimes it’s held at bay. Cruelty won again last night.

Most musical instruments are meant to be played, even after 200 years or more. Proper care over time ensures that. Plus, crystal doesn’t degrade like fabric. I think it’s amazing that @lizzo got to play that #flute @librarycongress !
