⚡ 100,000 km in an EV: ₹7.19 Lakh Saved, 10 Tonnes CO₂ Offset & 476 Trees Planted
In February 2021, I made a conscious decision to switch to electric mobility and brought home the Tata Nexon EV Prime XZ+. Back then, Faridabad had no public chargers, and range anxiety was very real. But I believed in the future. It was time to walk the talk.
Fast forward to July 2025:
✅ 100,000 km driven
✅ ₹89,500 total charging cost
✅ ₹85,000 total service cost (including wire harness repair)
✅ 7,700 litres of petrol saved
✅ 10,000 kg of CO₂ emissions avoided
✅ 476 trees worth of carbon offset
✅ ₹7.19 lakh saved in fuel alone
🔋 Technical Summary
Vehicle Tata : Nexon EV Prime XZ+
Battery Capacity : 30kWh
Avg. Consumption : 112Wh/km = 0.112 kWh/km
Total Distance : 100,000km
Total Energy Used : 100,000 × 0.112 = 11,200kWh
Charging Cost : ₹89,500 → ₹0.895/km
Service Cost : ₹85,000 (total including one major cost wire harness replacement)
⚙️ Charging Split
Home Charging (BRIGHTBLU AC Type 2 Charger) : 82% = 9,184 kWh
Public DC Charging (ABB) : 18% = 2,016 kWh
💡 All ABB DC chargers used were installed during my tenure as Country Business Head, ABB eMobility India.
💡I use the AC only when driving with family, not just to extend range, but to reduce overall energy consumption and minimize environmental impact with every kilometer
🌱 Environmental Impact
ICE Car CO₂/km : 180g/km = 18,000 kg for 100,000 km
EV CO₂/km (India grid avg. 24% RE) : 80g/km = 8,000 kg
✅ Net CO₂ Saved : 10,000 kg (10 tonnes)
🌳 Tree Equivalent : 10,000 ÷ 21 = ~476 trees planted⛽ Petrol Avoided : 7.7L/100 km → 7,700 litres saved💸 Fuel Cost Saved : ₹105/L → ₹8,08,500 – ₹89,500 = ₹7,19,000 saved
💡 What Enabled This?
✅ Willpower & Determination to make a change
✅ Smart home charging – 82% of energy drawn at home on BRIGHTBLU AC chargers, ensuring reliability and safety.
✅ Fast reliable public DC charging – ABB DC fast chargers, deployed by me, empowered intercity/intracity drives with confidence.
✅ Sustainable grid – Gurugram’s grid is now powered by 28–30% renewable energy, higher than India’s 24% national average. Each km driven is greener.
🔊 Message to Every Car Owner in India
If I can do 100,000 km of clean, conscious, cost-effective driving, so can you.
You don’t need to wait for perfection, you just need to start.
✅ Choose a reliable EV
✅ Install a dependable BRIGHTBLU AC charger at home or workplace

World Environment Day is not about planting a tree for a photograph. It is about changing habits that shape the future.
Today, as a family, we made a few simple commitments to ourselves:
• Use air-conditioning more responsibly and only when genuinely needed.
• Minimise the use of single-use plastics.
• Consume less and embrace a more minimalist lifestyle.
• Reuse more, waste less, and extract greater value from what we already own.
• Prefer our beloved EV for daily commuting and use public transport wherever practical.
• Be more conscious of every kilowatt-hour, every litre of water, and every resource we consume.
The reality is that climate change will not be solved by governments and corporations alone. It will be solved when millions of families make millions of better decisions every day.
As someone who has spent years in the electric mobility sector, I remain convinced that sustainable transportation will play a critical role in reducing emissions. But EV adoption can only accelerate when reliable charging infrastructure exists behind every journey.
At Planet3 Energy, backed by the five-decade engineering legacy of MAK Controls & Systems, we are committed to building exactly that, aviation-grade DC fast chargers engineered for reliability, redundancy, uptime, and long service life. Because the most sustainable charger is not merely the one that is installed; it is the one that continues to operate reliably for years.
On this World Environment Day, let us remember that the future we leave behind will be determined not by what we say, but by what we choose to do every day.
The future is not something we inherit. It is something we build.

Eid al-Adha reminds us that meaningful progress is built on sacrifice, responsibility, and purpose.
As the world moves rapidly towards electrification, the future will not be defined only by EV adoption but by the reliability of the infrastructure powering it.
Built on the legacy of MAK Controls & Systems a global engineering organization and DCPP partners with DRDO with over five decades of expertise in aerospace ground support systems, precision power equipment, and mission-critical defence technologies Planet3 Energy is engineering aviation-grade DC fast chargers designed for uptime, resilience, and long lifecycle performance.
Because sustainable mobility needs more than ambition.
It needs dependable engineering.
Wishing everyone a peaceful and meaningful Eid al-Adha.
Aviation-Grade Chargers Powering the EVconomy.
In these turbulent times with wars reshaping global power dynamics, rising poverty, inflation, relentless daily struggles, the painful internal situations in places like Manipur, corruption, and the looming AI driven uncertainty threatening millions of livelihoods, there occasionally emerges someone who simply brings a smile to people’s faces and injects a rare sense of motivation and positivity. Right now, for many Indians, that person is Vaibhav Suryavanshi.
Yes, it is sport. Yes, it is entertainment. And on an entirely different level, there are far more serious issues that India must collectively confront and solve. But sometimes, even a fleeting moment of joy, hope, and collective excitement matters deeply in a society carrying so much emotional and economic weight. This young boy has managed to create that rare positive energy.
At the same time, I firmly believe India suffers from a chronic tendency of creating demi gods out of public figures. Admiration is beautiful, but blind worship can become dangerous. Achievements especially early success should inspire people, not lead to irrational hero worship. Sportspersons deserve applause, but so do scientists, teachers, innovators, soldiers, social workers, entrepreneurs, artists, and countless ordinary citizens quietly making society better every single day.
And while the spotlight shines brightly on Vaibhav, it should never take away from the remarkable performances and promise shown by players like Sai Sudharsan, Priyansh Arya, Prabhsimran Singh, and Tilak Varma. They too deserve recognition, celebration, and encouragement.
Cheer for heroes. Celebrate excellence. Enjoy the positivity they bring. But as a nation, we must never lose sight of the larger mission building a stronger, wiser, more compassionate, and more progressive India.
Some forms of energy are not measured in kilowatt-hours, they are measured in love, sacrifice, resilience, and silent strength.
A mother’s care is perhaps the most dependable force on Earth, always present, always giving, and always powering lives forward quietly in the background.
At Planet3 Energy, while we engineer reliable, aviation-grade charging infrastructure built to perform every single day, Mother’s Day reminds us where true reliability was first learned.
To all mothers, thank you for being the strength, warmth, and guiding force behind every journey.
Aviation grade charging powering EVConomy.

Last week I watched Assi on Zee5, and I must say, it was one of the most impactful viewing decisions I’ve made in a long time.
The film masterfully weaves together a reality we are all painfully aware of, yet often choose to overlook. The lack of safety for women is not just a statistic, it is a lived truth. With nearly 80 reported rapes every day, and only a fraction receiving justice, the system often feels more complicit than corrective. What’s even more disturbing is how influence and money can manipulate evidence going so far as to fabricate alibis and fake even something as concrete as DNA reports.
What struck me deeply was the emotional journey of the victim, her fragile hope, her silent endurance, and the harsh reality that instead of receiving compassion, she is often subjected to further trauma within the judicial system itself. The courtroom, which should be a sanctuary for justice, sometimes becomes an extension of suffering.
The performances elevate the narrative to another level altogether. Kani Kusruti is absolutely phenomenal, she doesn’t just play the character, she inhabits it with haunting authenticity. Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub delivers a restrained yet powerful performance, showcasing how effortless and honest acting can leave a lasting impact. And Taapsee Pannu, as always, brings intensity and conviction to her role.
One line that will stay with me for a long time is when the father says in court that after the incident, his child is no longer a child, he has grown up. That single statement encapsulates the irreversible loss, the forced maturity, and the deep emotional scars left behind. It is truly nerve wracking.
This is not just a film, it is a mirror. And it demands that we don’t just watch, but reflect.
On 17th April, I had the honour of representing Planet3 Energy alongside eminent panelists at the Autotech Conclave, Bharat Mandapam, wonderfully organised by International Federation of Electric Vehicle Association
It was an enriching discussion where I strongly emphasised that it is high time accountability becomes central to EV charging infrastructure in India. India today has several thousand DC chargers, but many are either non-operational or not performing reliably. There must be accountability based on clearly defined uptime, availability, response-time, service-quality, and user-experience parameters.
Chargers that consistently fail to perform should be red-flagged, and OEMs must be placed on a strict watchlist so that EV users and CPOs do not suffer at the end of the chain.
I also highlighted the importance of a stable grid, proper site readiness, power-quality management, earthing, protection systems, and long-term electrical infrastructure planning to ensure reliable EV charging operations.
It was also a privilege to present how Planet3 Energy brings the engineering DNA of MAK Controls & Systems into EV charging a 50-year-old engineering organisation and DCPP partner to DRDO, known for mission-critical aerospace ground support systems and precision power equipment.
At Planet3 Energy, our focus is to indigenise DC fast chargers with uncompromising reliability, robust build quality, long lifecycle performance, and redundancy at every critical component to ensure minimal downtime.
Because the future of EV adoption will not be decided merely by the number of chargers installed.
It will be decided by how many of them actually work reliably, safely, and consistently.

On this day, we remember the tragedy of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre a dark chapter that exposed the brutal reality of colonial rule under the British Raj.
Hundreds of innocent, unarmed Indians gathered peacefully, only to be met with merciless gunfire. It was not just a massacre, it was a stark reminder of how freedom was crushed, dignity denied, and voices silenced.
Let us not allow time to dilute memory. Independence was not gifted; it was earned through immense sacrifice, pain, and resilience.
As we move forward in a free nation, let us remember the cost of that freedom and value it, protect it, and never take it for granted.

Asha Tai, Asha Bhosle a true rebel who carved her own space, often without support and against deeply rooted prejudices. One of the most versatile singers India has ever produced, she redefined what it meant to be an artist.
Having lived through India’s independence and gone on to set benchmarks for generations of singers, her journey was nothing short of extraordinary. A vibrant personality and forever youthful (ajar) spirit, she became the voice of women through both her achievements and her fearless, rebellious attitude.
Arguably one of the greatest singers India has ever seen, her life, her voice, and her versatility stood as a testament to grace, resilience, and brilliance.
Thank you, Asha Tai, for entertaining us and inspiring us to believe that nothing is impossible.
May your soul rest in peace.

Today, we bow to the Kanjaks
the purest form of शक्ति.
A reminder that the future we worship… is the future we must protect.
In a world divided by conflict and noise,
peace is no longer a wish it is a responsibility.
And responsibility begins with our choices.
What we drive.
What we consume.
What we leave behind.
Cleaner energy is not just technology.
It is a commitment to the generations we celebrate today.
Let’s choose peace over pollution.
Progress over delay.
Electric over fossil.

What a powerful film. It strikes a deep chord from the very beginning.
The story follows a struggling actor, unhappy with his facial appearance, who undergoes a new surgical treatment and gets a complete makeover almost overnight. Yet, he chooses to live as someone else.
A simple yet profoundly powerful narrative. A must-watch for everyone.
The scene where he casually lies to the doctor who gave him the treatment, and the climax both are incredibly powerful and truly iconic.
I’m certain you will deeply connect with the film and its character.
And one question will continue to trouble you, Is it really just about appearances, or is it about the true strength of character?
Brilliantly acted, well-written, and masterfully directed, an underrated masterpiece.
Thank you, Renate Reinsve, Adam Pearson, and Sebastian Stan, for such powerful performances.
And thank you, Aaron Schimberg.
