@shegone03 A bit confused. This swing here looks nothing like this short HR swing you got on plane with in the game. In game, your bat angle matched your shoulder angle. But not today. Are you sure you’re right ? Just asking. Is he hitting down ? https://t.co/MfjPLyduS5
@TylerOsik@HittersUniv Unfortunately the PVC is tilted the wrong direction. It should be matching the angle of the oncoming pitch. Then the hitter matches that plane. Collision should be equal and opposite the ball path. Use physics.
@TylerOsik Tyler, wanted to add a minor detail. For years, I have been using a string on an angle to show hitters to get/stay on plane. Only difference is the swing is a circle. Science dictates this. You don’t go UP the pvc. https://t.co/paahBVPLdL
@GGrinder33 Call me about a great mid season transfer. He can hit, play MIF, 6.6 runner , and great kid. He can start for SEU in the Spring. 3.8 GPA. I have been Coaching HS baseball in Pinellas County for over 25 years. You want this kid in your dugout. Rob C. 727-638-7421 cell
There is alot of people who drink and drive, it doesn’t make it right. I hope you would agree the body is “fighting itself” if the hitter steps across. Build the swing from the ground up. Start square - stay square or you will end up making up for it someplace else in the swing.
@DrivelineBB Goal - The bat angle matches the shoulder angle. So the height of the pitch path, determines the spine angle / shoulders of the hitter. The bat wants to go around the spine in a true circle.
Oh. Now I see. That Feel vs. Real thing again. With technology in 2025, isn’t it better to just show & teach kids what Big Leaguers do & let them figure it out ? Feel vs. Real is a questionable approach to teaching such a unique skill as hitting a baseball. It can be confusing especially when you don’t say - “it’s NOT actually what you’re going to do in the game. It’s just a feeling”
Barrels are definitely going up in these 2 pics. As well as all other HRs. Too much is made about backspin. Want alot of backspin? hit a catcher pop up. 3B, 1B, and P know what a smoked line drive has - very little to no spin. The hitter stopped the backspin of the pitchers FB. (Or his top spinning CB). PS. These guys are hitting the bottom of the ball.
I love Mike Schmidt. But I’m sure even he would admit that this may have been his worst swing ever. This does NOT look like most HRs I see. Thank you for the one swing in the history of MLB where hitting the ball like that created a HR. Also, yes B. Lowe does look like he got jammed here, but it is a HR. Here is another normal HR.
Regardless of the incoming spin of the ball? A Back spinning fastball coming at you or a top spinning, curveball coming at you. Both are hit the same exact way and create the same back spin? So on the back, spinning fastball coming at you you have to stop the ball and reverse the spin?
