Did you know you could submit your app's tests to the Flutter project, so that we would run them with every change to Flutter's APIs, and that we commit to not breaking you if you do this?

@jonsurrell No idea, sorry. I don't see anything in the mailing list logs around that time either. Most of that stuff was just whatever the browsers at the time did already, so the real "why" of it may be lost to the late 90s, in the logs of the Netscape or IE teams.
@kaljitism Unfortunately funding for it ran out and I had to move to other things, but if funding were to be established it's something I'd still be interested in working on. Feel free to reach out to me by e-mail if you want to help out!
every day i refresh https://t.co/eEa4Y7LlH7 hoping that there'll be some indication of when the 24h access days will be, and every day i am again disappointed
@jezell@HuyNguyenTw Dirty little secret: I specced WebSockets because I wanted a sane way to control my model trains from a web page, and XMLHttpRequest was not doing it for me. Sad follow-up: I have yet to use it to control my model trains. ๐ One day!
I just spent multiple hours trying to debug a new certificate setup only to realise that I'd just used the wrong Common Name. Why do crypto systems have such terrible developer experiences? A simple "CN doesn't match" message would have saved me so much effort.
my new mission in life is to replace "scientifically proven" with "scientifically demonstrated a 95% chance of being better than placebo in a double-blind controlled trial wait what no we didn't do that sorry"
(this mission will be short-lived i expect)
@KristijanZic@MiSvTh As a general rule we make no attempt to predict how long things will take because software engineering is an art not a science. Our roadmap is what we plan to work on. It'll be done when it's done. That said, we're an open source project and if you contribute it'll go faster! :-)
@yakforward @MatejKnopp@RydMike@FlutterDev The points got addressed in the meeting (I tried to take notes in the doc above, but they're brief, sorry.) Feel free to hit me up on our Discord if you want to talk about it more though! Link in https://t.co/1aOLVeKdPA
@moconchobhair It's extremely hard to predict how long software engineering takes, and we prefer not to make commitments we might later fail to achieve. If you would like us to complete this work faster, you are of course welcome to come help us. :-) https://t.co/1aOLVeKdPA
