Please don’t post the school Nativity online. Not every child can appear on social media, and one well-meaning upload can create real safeguarding risks. If your school allows filming, think carefully about where you share it. Let’s keep the magic of the Nativity safe for every
If we create a system that values phonics over child development
GCSEs over wellbeing
Push narrow one size fits all systems and approaches
Then consistently tell parents that we can't make reasonable adjustments without a label
Don't get mad at them for seeking a label 🤷♂️
Campaigners say it is “deeply worrying” that there does not appear to have been a single disabled peer appointed to a new House of Lords committee set up to consider proposed new laws that will legalise assisted dying.

Schools should be joyous places.
There can be great joy in learning.
There can be great joy in teaching.
"One of the great tragedies in education..." Margaret says "...is that joy came to be seen as frivolous".
"But joy is the key ingredient, mixed with hope and belonging."
It's the summer holidays, which means that I have **two copies** of Primary Reading Simplified to give away.
Simply **retweet** this tweet for your chance to win a copy.
I will pick two winners on Sunday 17th August.
Good luck!
Join me and @AceCentre in October to talk about teaching reading to pupils with communication needs.
I'll be sharing strategies and simple techniques to enable access to phonics.

Someone asked me today how I’m always smiling… how am I not?
Life throws challenges, sure. But oh my—just look around.
Life is beautiful.
Learn from it. Live it. Love it.
Laugh through it.
Live while you can.
And remember, every day is a gift.

Shout out to school office staff
First to face complaints.
Last to take credit.
Always calm, always kind.
They keep the school running, the headteacher sane, and the community connected.
We couldn’t do the job without them.
A massive thank you!

I totally support the National Year Of Reading. We desperately need a culture of reading for pleasure to replace the culture of constant tests in schools, backed by proper government funding. And we need STORYTIME to be part of the school day, every day!

@the_cattanis The Kat Wolfe books by Lauren St John are great, they're listed as age 9-11 but there is a preview here on Google:

And The London Eye Mystery by Siobhan Dowd is great though I feel it's aimed a little older https://t.co/22Hw1lp2ad
Happy reading 🙂📚
For contractual reasons, we can't say much about what we've been up to for the last six months.
However, what we can share is that Margaret's restorative work with Noel and Liam is now complete.
"Don't look back in anger!" I heard her say.
