Unleash the Power of Cloud: A performance comparison for financial risk high performance computing. Discover which cloud provider reigns supreme as we compare the performance of virtual machines, dissecting them in search of the ultimate financial risk analytics powerhouse.
As a first use case for our financial risk HPC benchmark we thought we'd look into whether SMT (Hyperthreading) should be enabled. The results were not what we expected but speak for themselves.
The next instalment to HPC on Cloud lands tomorrow morning (UK time). In the mean time here's a little something to make sure we're on the same page with the terms we use:

Really more interested in things on the server / data centre side of things for this one.
Are you running something other than x86/amd64?
Perhaps something in addition to an Intel or AMD CPU (in the same machine/chassis)? Something completely different and ARM based maybe?
Alternatively if you're working on something as an alternative or enhancement to x86 (especially in the data centre), comment below and tell us more please!
