Also, never leave a lit fire unattended; before heading inside, always make sure the fire is completely out. Once finished using, be sure to always allow ashes to cool for at least 48 hours. Have you received a mailer from @HoCoGov DPW about testing your service line (pipe) material to determine what its made out of as part of the County's Service Line Stewardship Program (SLSP)? If yes and you have not yet tested your pipe, we need your help. In order to ensure the County meets the @EPA's November 2027 deadline for its latest Lead & Copper Rule Revisions, DPW must establish a complete material inventory of all service lines in #HoCoMD. While DPW maintains an inventory of its service lines & most residential properties, the material of ~10,000 customer-side service lines currently remains unknown.
If you have received a mailer, we ask that you please visit DPW's interactive inventory map webpage at https://t.co/2QmIwKMw3Q to search up your address & complete the corresponding online self-reporting survey. If you are unable to access your pipe or need assistance, contact DPW’s SLSP team at 410-313-6118, as the department offers FREE service line inspections by appointment.
