Question
We know that when a woman’s husband goes missing, she is expected to wait for four years. Following which she'll observe the waiting period of four months and 10days, after being ruled that the husband is dead. What if a wife goes missing?
Shaykh Dr Sharafudeen Gbadebo Raji’s Answer
If a man already has four wives and one of them goes missing, despite extensive searches and all efforts to find her proving unsuccessful, he can say, “If she is still alive, I have divorced her,” if he wishes to marry another woman.
However, the Sharee‘ah does not stipulate that a man must wait even a single day before marrying another wife.
Even if a man has only one wife and she goes missing, Islaam does not stipulate that he must wait for a specific period before marrying another woman.
This does not mean that a man is unkind or lacks compassion for considering another marriage in such circumstances. Rather, he is not required to put his life on hold indefinitely.
If the missing wife eventually returns, she should be welcomed back.
In the case of a man whose wife dies. Islaam does not stipulate that he must wait for a single day before remarrying. He may choose to marry the following day or wait for three years; the decision is his.
However, a woman whose husband dies is required to observe an iddah of four months and ten days. During this period, she must not enter into another marriage, nor must he directly proposed to by any person.

Question: Is there anything wrong with not placing one hand over the other during Salaah due to illness?
Shaykh Dr Sharafudeen Gbadebo Raji : There is no problem with that.
Islaam even allows a person who is unable to stand because of illness to perform Salaah while sitting, bending, or lying down, according to their ability.
Allaah is so merciful that HE rewards a person for the acts of worship they were prevented from performing because of illness, as though they had continued performing them when they were healthy.
So, if illness prevents you from placing one hand over the other during Salaah, there is no sin upon you.
