The cycle of pastoral ministry
• First, they IDOLIZE you
• Next, they CRITICIZE you
• Finally, they OSTRACIZE you
The cycle often repeats itself

“De-conversion” isn’t a thing.
Either you’re in Christ, or you’re not.
To say that someone has “de-converted” is to affirm that they were never in Christ.
(Read John 10:27–30)
75% of Christian young people fall away from the faith and leave the church after high school.
30 hrs per week at school.
30 hrs per week in front of media.
45 minutes per week in a Bible class.
Parents, pastors, and teachers — we can do more. We must do more.
“I preach the Bible because I’m not smart enough to preach anything else... but also because I’m too smart to preach anything else” @hbcharlesjr#tbmb19@tnbaptist
Godly men:
Stay instead of leaving
Lead instead of abdicating
Die to self instead of self-idolizing
Repent instead of excusing
Listen instead of ignoring
Fight instead of hiding
Pray instead of worrying
Rejoice instead of complaining
Act instead of stalling
Let a Christian be but two or three years without an affliction, and he is almost good for nothing. He cannot pray, nor meditate, nor discourse at that rate he was wants to do; but when a new affliction comes, now he can find his tongue, and come to his knees again. JF
Before sin, Satan is the tempter who whispers, "you should do this!"
After sin, Satan is the accuser who whispers, "how could you have done this!"
Satan kills through temptation and then buries with guilt.
Lord, lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
Amen.
The devil is not fighting religion. He's too smart for that. He's producing a counterfeit Christianity, so much like the real one that good Christians are afraid to speak out against it.

#MaundyThursday: The Story of Two Cups
One offered in the upper room.
One offered in Gethsemane.
One brings forgiveness and life.
One brings wrath and death.
One is a cup of blessing.
One is a cup of curse.
One Jesus offers to us.
One Jesus drinks for us.

“When the church tries to meet needs, help people, or change society without prioritizing the preaching of the Word of God, we only prostitute our mission for the sake of the world.”
