@kiana_76 @KaylaWoodman2 I agree! I personally do not agree with "schlock" music, but the artists who took these song ideas are free to express themselves creatively. I think the important lesson here is that credit needs to be given to the original artists and this would not create an issue. #MUNMUS2011

All forms of music have value, and this is something we can learn from. One persons favorite song may be considered another persons least favorite, which is important to note here because some people may enjoy these "schlock" songs more than the original song. #MUNMUS2011

"Cultural theft" in music can be considered a form of plagiarism as it is borrowing or taking ones music elements, often without consent. I am a firm believer in giving credit where credit it is due, but we should not dismiss this form of music. #MUNMUS2011

I think Ray Charles used a breaking voice in "I've got a woman" to express his passion and raw emotion during the song. I think this is a powerful way of showcasing these emotions in blues music. #MUNMUS2011

@AshleyLegge3 I also agree with this! The majority of the songs played on the radio are often repeated all day long, which can become quite repetitive but is also used for background noise and other distractions. #MUNMUS2011

#MUNMUS2011 False needs that the music industry has created can include unrealistic lifestyles and ways of dealing with emotions. Some artists chose to write the majority of their songs based on heartbreak, or pretending to be something they're not for the sake of their listener
