Christian. Survivor. Spotlight holder. Micah 6:8. I cope, therefore I think. Or perhaps it is: I think, therefore I cope. Something like that. #metoo#churchtoo
Jack Graham has covered up multiple child sexual predators at his church, and those are just the ones I know about from my time there @prestonwood in the late 80s-mid 90s. I know their names. So does Jack.
He refused to help when I contacted him to him report Langworthy. I persisted even with Prestonwood fighting against victims and the prosecution of Langworthy. Thankfully we persisted and succeeded.
I have no doubt Jack has continued to cover up child sex crimes. That is his legacy. #thisisthesbc #sbc26
This is Dee Parsons. @wartwatch was taken over by a crypto who asked me for money. I am trying to get x to do something, but it can take weeks. I want X to shut it down and restore it to me. This is my substitute account for now. @ThouArtTheMan@elonmusk
NEW: Paul Pressler is one of the most influential figures you may have never heard of. The onetime judge remade the Southern Baptist Convention, and helped forge the marriage between the GOP and white evangelicals — all while allegedly abusing for decades.

Jennifer Lyell was the highest ranking female in the Southern Baptist Convention.
Until she came forward with abuse against a Baptist leader.
Now she's dead. Here's what happened.

Daystar Television Co-Host Doug Weiss called Trinity Foundation, leaving a voicemail threatening to send a cease-and-desist letter if an article wasn’t taken down that Weiss claims is false.
Trinity Foundation stands by its reporting

It seems that thought-terminating clichés and reality-bending phrases are becoming increasingly common in our public, political, and religious discourse. In this post, I introduce what I’m calling The Wheel of Reality-Bending Phrases: a framework for understanding how language is used to distort truth and protect power. In future posts, I’ll expand these categories and apply them to specific cases. https://t.co/zB1MbqBF1z
A primary goal of a cover-up is to define the situation for others so they cannot define it for themselves.
This requires managing the flow of information and preventing others from acquiring details that would challenge the definition that is being given to them.
@Jenlyell ALWAYS, stated Assault
From the beginning, to the authorities, to investigators, to Guidepost, to @albertmohler, @ericgeiger, in depositions, to her legal team, to me, to anyone and everyone always Se*u@l Assault DavidSills stated that he knew she didn't want it

It would be trite to say “daddy issues,” but maybe not entirely wrong?
She knows her dad would be considered an abuser if she admits that someone under the spiritual authority of a spiritual
mentor/church leader cannot consent.
This past month, four different Protestant groups/denominations, most evangelical, have been at the center of in-depth news reports detailing how those denominations’ systems of oversight have failed victims of alleged abuse. In chronological order…
Pastor Robert Morris pleaded guilty to repeatedly sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl.
The FB comments of @700club readers is 100% why victims don't speak up sooner... or ever. These responses are astonishing:

A large church knowingly allows registered sex offenders to attend services and events—including those with children present. When concerned parents asked to see the church’s safety policies, leaders refused and told them to “just trust leadership.” Those parents wisely left the church.
It’s only a matter of time before a child in this church is harmed. This is why we sue churches.
🚨 Master's thesis published: 100% of clergy abuse victims experienced institutional betrayal.
115 survivors courageously shared their stories. Over half met the criteria for probable PTSD. DARVO tactics cause measurable harm. Institutions CAN do better.

Brilliant catch by @Floridaline: DeptOfChurch has started paying for ads.
I wonder — who would fund an account that defends abusive ministers?

@reachjulieroys They have really learned a lesson after their 2024 lawsuit settled a couple of months ago, where the church was accused of “negligent hiring, training and supervision, negligent failure to timely report child abuse and general negligence,” didn’t they?
I'm exhausted by the ten thousand different reasons you can never criticize a celebrity pastor:
* He's a man of God
* He's the Lord's anointed
* You're being divisive
* It's a spiritual attack from Satan
* You don't know his heart
* He's done so much good for the kingdom
* God forgives him
* You're not perfect either
* Ignore the social media mob
* It's not the right time
* Stop spreading gossip
All of this is so embarrassing.
The reality?
God loves righteousness, justice, wisdom, and the truth.
