The power and beauty of nature. This ancient olive tree, called "the thinking tree" by the locals, is located in Puglia in the southern region of Italy. Its age is estimated to be at least 2,000 years.๐โ๏ธ๐ฟ๐ฑ๐ณ๐ฒ๐๐

Did you know that trees are like nature's air conditioners? ๐ณ๐ They can lower the temperature by up to 4.5ยฐC in their local area and even cool untouched forests up to 6km away! ๐ก๏ธ๐ฒ
But wait, there's more! Trees are also masters of carbon sequestration, absorbing that pesky greenhouse gas and storing it away like a squirrel hoarding nuts for winter. ๐ฟ๏ธ๐ณ In fact, forests help cool the average global temperature by more than 1 degree Celsius! ๐๐
So, what can you do to help our leafy friends save the planet? Plant more trees, of course! ๐ณ๐ณ๐ณ Not only will you be helping to combat climate change, but you'll also be creating a natural cooling system that can lower your energy bills and provide some much-needed shade on those scorching summer days. ๐๐ธ
Remember, every tree planted is a step towards a cooler, greener future. So, grab a shovel and get planting! ๐ณ๐๐ณ

The International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) issued a landmark advisory opinion on May 21, 2024, stating that greenhouse gas emissions constitute pollution of the marine environment under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS). This decision, requested by the Commission of Small Island States (COSIS), emphasizes that states have a legal obligation to reduce emissions and protect marine ecosystems, going beyond the commitments of the Paris Agreement. The ruling was celebrated by environmental organizations and legal experts as a significant step towards climate justice and the protection of the oceans.

Hey there, green thumbs and tree huggers! Let's make the world a little more oxygen-rich and a lot more beautiful by planting some trees! Remember, every tree you plant is like giving Mother Nature a high-five. So, grab a shovel, find a spot, and let's make the world a bit more leafy and lovely!
For those of you who don't have the time but still want to make a difference, check out our website in our bio.
Would you rather live in a world with zero carbon emissions but no more social media or keep social media but live with the current carbon footprint? Why?
Mass planting trees with edible leaves could have a substantial impact on several fronts. Firstly, they could significantly increase the biodiversity of urban areas, as demonstrated by Lin et al. (2015), who found that increasing plant and biological diversity is a key factor affecting urban biodiversity and important ecosystem services. This could lead to a richer, more resilient urban ecosystem, benefiting both humans and wildlife.
Secondly, edible trees could play a significant role in improving food security. A single chestnut tree, for instance, can provide enough annual food energy to feed a family of four, without the need for annual soil tilling, which can lead to topsoil erosion. This could be a game-changer in areas where food security is a concern.
Moreover, these trees could also serve as a source of shade and green spaces in urban environments, helping to combat the urban heat island effect and improve air quality. This would not only make cities more livable but also contribute to the fight against climate change.
Lastly, mass planting edible trees could have social and community benefits. Such initiatives could foster human solidarity, providing projects for communities to work on together.
However, as with any large-scale initiative, careful planning and execution would be necessary to avoid unintended consequences. If not done thoughtfully, mass planting could lead to the introduction of invasive species or the destruction of unique local ecologies.

It takes a team of seven to eight trees to provide enough oxygen for just one person per year. That's right, these leafy wonders are working overtime to keep us breathing easy. And if you're wondering about their carbon-fighting skills, a single tree can absorb as much as 48 pounds of CO2 a year. So, the next time you're strolling through a forest, give a little nod to the trees - they're the real MVPs of our atmosphere!

It takes about 450 mature trees to offset the annual emissions of one person. Now, I know what you're thinking: "That's a lot of trees!" But don't worry, I'm sure we can find a way to make it fun.
Imagine, if you will, a world where every time you flew, you had to plant a certain number of trees to offset your carbon footprint. You could have your very own "flight forest"! Every time you take to the skies, you'd be helping to create a lush, green oasis. And let's not forget the added bonus of having a place to hide from the in-laws during the holidays.
Now, let's get down to the nitty-gritty. How many trees would you need to plant to offset the emissions from your flight? Well, that depends on a few factors, such as the distance of your flight and the type of aircraft you're flying on. But let's just say you're flying from New York to Los Angeles. That's about 2,445 miles. Give or take a tree or two.
If we use the 450 trees per person per year as a rough estimate, and assuming you take one round-trip flight per year, you'd need to plant about 0.00018055555555555557 trees per mile. So, for your New York to Los Angeles flight, you'd need to plant approximately 441.1764705882353 trees.
Just remember, the more you fly, the more trees you'll need to plant. And who knows, maybe one day we'll have forests growing at the end of every runway.
So there you have it, a fun fact about how many trees it takes to offset the emissions from flying. Now go forth, my environmentally conscious friend, and plant those trees!

The World Heart Summit 2024 in Geneva highlighted the significant impact of air pollution on cardiovascular health, revealing that over half of the nearly 7 million deaths due to air pollution are from cardiovascular conditions. The summit emphasized the need for global action to reduce air pollution and improve cardiovascular health, including discussions on universal health coverage and strategies to reduce disparities in heart health. It also underscored the importance of patient stories and experiences in raising awareness about the health risks of air pollution.
Stopping fossil fuels, fighting deforestation, and planting trees is absolutely critical right now.

There is an amazing technology that literally sucks CO2 out of the air, costs very little, and builds itself......
It's called a tree.
How about planting some?

Since 1990, the world has lost more than 420 million hectares or about a billion acres of forest
and humans continue to cut down 10 football pitches of forest every minute of every single day

Did you know that poor soil leads to poor nutritional value? Todayโs fruits and vegetables already contain 90% fewer nutrients. That means for our children and the next generations, the food they eat will not provide them with the rich nutrients they need to be able to grow and thrive. Save Soil is a movement to revitalize our planetโs soil so that the earth continues to flourish and so that our children can enjoy food filled with the nutrients they need to live well.
