@DeputyGrocott The best example is for them to see their parents reading for pleasure. That; and regular trips to the library or to browse book shops. Even allowing them access to e-readers, audio books, graphic novels and comics.

@TeacherOnTopic My hot take is that most of the things they say we should have taught in high school, we did. They just didn't pay attention and actually learn. I see some hot takes from my former classmates on a lot of things and I can't help but think, "bruh, you sat next to me in science."

@TeacherOnTopic My hot take is that these people need to look at the curriculum or ask a teacher. More often than not I bet that many of the skills are actually taught in schools and they either don’t remember or didn’t do the work at the time.

As a headteacher I have immense influence. Since coming out as a sigma in assembly and walking around the place mewing and calling everything skibidi we have seen a 100% reduction in Y6 boys being interested in such gubbins.
