Representing millions of home-based workers, Patricia Coรฑoman (Chile) and Edileuza Guimarรฃes (Brazil) are bringing workersโ voices, concerns, experiences, and demands directly into global discussions on the platform economy, social dialogue, and gender equality at work.
We are proud to see home-based workers represented at the #ILC2026, one of the world's most important labour stages. Nothing about us without us. โ๐ฟ
HNI was proud to join the Global Platform Workers Solidarity Project (GPWSP) roundtable with platform workers, journalists, and allies in Nairobi. Jemima Nyakongo, our International Coordinatore, spoke on behalf of home-based workers under the theme "All workers are workers."
Patricia Coรฑoman & Edileuza Guimarรฃes are representing millions of home-based workers in key discussions on social dialogue, gender equality at work and the platform economy. Together, we are helping shape a future of work that recognizes, protects, and includes all workers.
The 114th Session of the International Labour Conference has officially begun in Geneva! ๐จ๐ญ
Our delegates are already on the ground, making sure the voices of home-based workers are heard where decisions about the future of work are being made.
#ILC2026#HomeBasedWorkers
With the General Discussion Committee on the Transformative Agenda for #GenderEquality at Work ahead at #ILC2026, this conversation is more urgent than ever. Recognition, rights, and protection for HBWs and ALL workers in the #InformalEconomy must include a strong gender lens. โ๐ฝ
๐ Fair systems, fair recognition! Economic justice for #HomeBasedWorkers means more than just #FairWages โ it's about valuing their essential contributions to communities and society, and safeguarding their rights. โ๐ฝโจ #DecentWork
Thatโs why we need strong and simple dispute systems, where homeworkers can:

What happens when your employer doesnโt pay you? Or your buyer disappears? For many homeworkers, thereโs no clear way to make a complaint or resolve problems. No contract. No legal support. No power.

@cleanclothes@WIEGOGLOBAL@hbwwfpk Millions of home-based workers sit at the very end of global fashion supply chains, working outside factories, and are particularly vulnerable as multiple crises impact their livelihoods.
Behind many home-based workers are elderly parents, sick relatives, and children who depend on them. When we talk about decent work, we must also talk about care systems.

Today we celebrate the anniversary of our 2nd Congress, held in 2023 โ a historic moment that brought together home-based worker leaders from across regions to strengthen our collective voice and shape our shared future.
During the Congress, key milestones were achieved: our ExCo was approved, office-bearers were elected, and HNIโs 1st Declaration was adopted.
It was a space of exchange, solidarity, and commitment to advancing rights, recognition, and dignity for home-based workers worldwide.
