@keithpiirto I'm homeschooling & used your video about the Compromise of 1850. https://t.co/9tg7zttKri I made a slide to accompany the lesson & thought you'd like a copy. My daughter used it while she watched the video & it helped. https://t.co/8DjOoegqrj
Today my son skipped his medicine to see if he'd be able to sleep tonight. Our day has been extremely challenging, and he's still awake at an unreasonable hour. That experiment is over! We'll have to figure out another solution for sleep. #ADHD#momlife#tradeoffs#medicinehelps
This month I was teaching my daughter about creative nonfiction and assigned a piece about the role & meaning of family. It's been challenging for her, and her piece didn't really come together. How would you describe that genre? #WritingCommunity#writerslife#homeschooling
2 nights in a row my son has told me to go to bed after I've sent him to bed. After I tell him I'm an adult & can decide for myself, he reminds me that I'm grumpy in the morning because I stay up too late. Stop being logical, kid! #parenting#momlife
As an English class assignment, I'm having my daughter submit to a writing contest. It gives her a real world reason to write. There is at least 1 other contest for this school year, & I think we'll enter more in the fall. Maybe she'll earn money from 1 of her submissions!
Games make learning engaging and fun. They also teach skills beyond academics like planning, organizing, follow through, & self regulation. I like how games give us a shared activity. #gameschooling
Although I'm still not feeling well from my #vaccine, we're having a successful school day here! We worked on a digital escape room together for a bit. We didn't escape, but we did do a whole bunch of thinking! I'm so glad that we added games to our #homeschool. #homeschooling
